Sony Music's Corporate Retreat ‘Always On’ was conceptualised and executed by Event Speciale, an event management company from Pune focussed on bringing creativity to MICE events in the corporate world. The 3-day affair at Park Hyatt, Bambolim​ Goa included themed parties, engaging conferences and team building sports activities.

Speaking about the retreat, a senior member from the Sony Music core organising team said, "Over the course of our first conversation with Francis Coelho, MD Event Speciale, we ascertained that Francis and his team shared the same vision for our Corporate Retreat as we did. The prime purpose behind this conference was to accustom our employees to what our business is all about and work on their team building, communication and leadership skills whilst in a ​leisurely creative environment"

‘Always On’ was ​an exclusive corporate retreat ​with a ​competitive spirit weaved into every activity. The delegates were divided into 8 teams based on 8 genres of music - K Pop, Hip Hop, Pop, Qawaali, Rock, Bollywood, Disco and Trance. With 90 employees from various parts of the country in 8 teams competed during presentations, games and dance nights to prove their calibre, the retreat provided for an interesting way to bring out the best from people who have rarely worked in the same department!

The retreat kicked off with a sumptuous lunch at Park Hyatt, Goa followed by a welcome conference detailing the roster of events. To lighten the mood and loosen the muscles after the travel and conference, delegates were readied for team building activities. A​n exhausting yet ​exhilarating hour of tug of war, team skii and dilithium run was followed by ​a themed dance.

The theme was a blend of the 8 distinct genres representing each team. Having to revamp a conference hall for a party with a dance floor, bar set up, cocktail tables, photo booth and DJ console was nothing less of a challenge, but Event Speciale married the theme and decor.

The second day was dedicated to an eight-hour conference where Sony Music's upcoming ​catalogue was presented to all the delegates. After the conference, the delegates put on their bell bottoms and mutton sleeves to unwind and lose their inhibitions grooving to sounds of the 70’s.

Studio29, was a retro themed nightclub conceptualised and designed by Event Speciale, inspired by Studio54, a former discotheque and present day Broadway theatre in New York. The club featured a black and white chequered dance floor, a gigantic disco ball hanging from the ceiling, glittery mason jars and a lot more that transported the employees back to the 70s. To add to this, the delegates were taken on a musical trail with songs produced by Sony Music over the years.

After partying to the wee hours of the morning, the delegates geared up for the last leg of the retreat - Decathalon. Football, volleyball, relay and archery to conclude the battle between the 8 teams was organised by Event Speciale in collaboration with Jeffery Manual, an emcee & team sports organizer in Goa.
