INvision Entertainment Ghanta Awards
The Ghanta Awards, a six-year-old event property by INvision Entertainment that recognizes the Worst of Bollywood every year across various categories is now targeting crowdfunding as a medium to produce its upcoming edition.
The Ghanta Awards was started to acknowledge and reward the extraordinary hard work that goes into the making of a bad film. The Ghantas is a live comedy and sketch award show shaped by online voting by the audience, the only one existing in this category.
Over the years, the property has established itself as a well-known worst of Bollywood awards that cater to Bollywood fans across the globe with a strong online and on ground presence. The custodians at INvision Entertainment share that it has been an interesting journey as Bollywood is gradually growing up and learning to laugh at their mistakes. The intention of the awards is not to offend the industry but to create a direct link to the fans by voicing their opinion/feedback & bridging the gap between them.
Gagan Takyar- Director, INvision Entertainment shares, “Last year Ghantas went international, the response in Singapore was overwhelming proving to us that the love towards Bollywood is seamless. Ghantas so far has been a pet project and has been funded internally for the last 6 years. Owing to the current market scenario, we are trying a different approach. We are bringing Ghantas to the where it belongs. For the people, by the people, of the people. We would want the Janta to help us pull off their favorite comedy Bollywood show. That is why we are crowd funding with Wishberry.”
