After Sunburn and Supersonic making an exit from Goa last year, a brand new multi genre music festival will be debuting on the sunny shores of Goa this December. Titled ‘Time Out 72 Hours,’ the festival will see a mix of genres from pop to indie to rock to electronic and will be held over 3 days at Vagator on from December 27 to 29, with 3 main headliners and an international supermodel host. Featuring a total of 3 stages, the festival will feature outdoor activities, camping, after parties and flea markets.
The festival which is in its planning stage has received an official nod from the Goa Government and will be helmed by a group of young entrepreneurs from Gujarat. The festival will be organized under the banner of Watermelon Events LLP and Sudarshan Entertainment World.
The line-up for the festival will be revealed in September. With this announcement alone, it looks like business in Goa will be booming like the good old days this New Year.
On the eve of World Music Day this June, the Minister for Tourism of Goa, Manohar Ajgaonkar, unveiled his plans of the formulation of various schemes by the Department of Tourism that would help in promoting the spirit of music in all its diverse forms via various music festivals that will be held throughout the state of Goa. Ajgaonkar also said that one of the primary reasons that draws tourists to Goa is music and that he would strive to make Goa a Music Festival Destination, and that the government of Goa will be identifying special zones where the proposed late-night music festivals can take place, so that the locals of Goa are not inconvenienced.
