The 7th edition of the 4-day IGI Buyer-Seller Knowledge National Meet recently concluded in Goa and was managed by Brandwidth. The show continues to encourage the Gems and Jewellery fraternity, year after year, and this year IGI's D'Show which took place from June 15 to 19 at the Goa Marriott Resort & Spa, Panaji, set new standards for National Buyer Seller Meets.
International Gemological Institute (IGI), the world's largest independent gem certification and appraisal institute, brought together India’s finest jewellery craftsmen and valued jewellers under one roof. The event enabled over 2000 meetings between participating manufacturers and buyers in a span of 4 days!
The goal of the IGI “D” Buyer-Seller Knowledge Meet, initiated by the Institute in 2012, is to holistically further the trade by offering an educational communication platform that brings together hundreds of retailers from across India and beyond, enabling them to interact directly with manufacturers through a unique one to one gathering.
Talking about the IGI D'Show, Tehmasp Printer, MD, IGI India stated, “This was the D'Show’s 7th year and the show has blossomed into a true networking platform for the diamond and jewellery trade. The four days of the D'Show generates the potential for forging long-term business relationships that go way beyond a single sale transaction."
The show’s One-to-One closed door meetings format is the USP of the event that enables the manufacturers and retailers to showcase their exquisite designs and close deals. The D'Show enables decision makers from both sides to connect on a platform to achieve common business goals. This year the show also educated the guests on how the diamonds are tested in the IGI Lab. A lab was set up in order to show the entire walkthrough of testing the diamonds. The IGI lab representatives displayed the entire testing and grading process.
One of the nights during the show was a Casino night, and the 250 guests were taken to Deltin Royale for an engaging evening. The other evening was the Gala Night which was a 007-themed event, and was more of a formal entertainment night, where the décor and Dress code was around the theme ‘Bond’. The night included felicitating the guests and the Valued Partners and it was concluded by a local Goan band taking over the floor and taking the event’s tempo to the next level.
IGI felicitated Nita Mukhopadhyay, General Manager, Senco Gold as the 'Leading Lady of the Diamond World' for her achievements in the Gem and Jewellery industry at the Gala night event.
This event saw Brandwidth partner with the International Gemological Institute for the “D” Show for the sixth time. Talking about this, Poonam Naveen, Senior Manager, Brandwidth said, “The 7th edition of the IGI “D” saw a huge turn-out this year, the whole show was house-full. Brandwidth partnered with IGI on everything, from planning the event to managing guest movements, transport of the guests, check-ins-check-outs, manpower handling, hotel coordination, security arrangements for the high valued jewellery to the entertainment, the whole thing was managed & executed by the team in a very professional manner.
