Indian parents above 50 years of age lack strength to fulfil their dreams. A survey released by Abbott’s Ensure states that 98% of parents living in metro cities have unfulfilled dreams. The survey finding opens up an opportunity for children and parents to connect together and achieve their dreams together.
Abbott in Creative Partnership with Toast Events, organised an event on April 25, at the St. Regis Mumbai, presenting perspectives highlighting this concern in an interesting and interactive format.
Today, dinner conversations for Indian families need to become more balanced— putting more of the spotlight on the generation that has raised millennials as much as on the millennials themselves. Highlighting the concern, Toast Events ensured not only the right elements of décor and design for the event, but put together an interesting panel of celebrity parents and children who addressed the issue. The panel for the event comprised of Anil & Rhea Kapoor, and Neena & Masaba Gupta. Coming from strong creative backgrounds, the parent-children duos were chosen in keeping with the demanding industries both work in and how the children have been free to craft their own path.

Balancing the scales, Neena Gupta represents someone who has fought against all odds in life to fulfil her dreams, whereas Anil Kapoor at the age of 60 years has lived to fulfill his dreams showcasing his strengths.
The points of discussion at the panel discussion were : Are dreams a prerogative of only the young? Have parents postponed their dreams to focus on their children? Will they ever have the strength to chase their dreams again?

For daughters, Rhea and Masaba, discussing their parents’ dreams, they spoke about how with time as children grow up, they switch roles of parent and child, where the child becomes the caregiver and support system for their parents to fulfil their dreams.
Weaving interesting conversations, Cyrus Sahukar moderated the session, enabling insights about dreams, ambitions, struggles and fulfilment of the celebrated artists on stage.
Commenting on the campaign, Priya Dugad, Client Servicing Lead, Toast Events said, “The event needed to be the platform to communicate the details of the survey conducted by Abbott in an experiential format. Addressing the survey, it was imperative to have the right communication channelled through the right influencers, hence roping in Rhea and Anil Kapoor along with Masaba and Neena Gupta. The panel discussion was crisp and communicated the insights from the lives of the artists, being captured and covered by all leading publications in the country.”

The celebrity panel discussion took place on April 26 at the St. Regis in Mumbai, and was a response to a study by Abbott’s Ensure which found that 98% of parents in cities had unfulfilled dreams.
