The event was scripted, directed, managed and produced by Cineyug Group of Companies held at Mumbai’s NSCI Dome on April 12.

Raj Nayak, the CEO of Colors TV, talking about the award ceremony said, “The 5th Colors Golden Petal Awards recognizes the efforts of every show’s cast and production team, and serves as a motivator urging them to continue to put their best foot forward every day to deliver path breaking entertainment."

“Having this wonderful venue, that allows us to explore technology and state of the art several aerial performances including zip line, harness and much more were incorporated in this show,” remarked Mohomed Morani, Director, Cineyug Group of Companies.

The opening performance witnessed the strength of the Colors family as artists from each show on the channel came together for a spectacular act. The act started from outside the venue, where the artistes were interacting with the drone camera showcasing the entire venue, leading into the revelation of all Colors families on stage magically from different parts of the stage by Shivangi (Mouni Roy). For television, a 7D experience was created as a part of this act where Mouni was shown interacting with the stars.

30 prestigious awards were presented for fiction as well as non-fiction categories. Shakti...Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki swept away most of the awards this year.

Colors’ popular jodis including Suraj-Chakor (Vijayendra Kumeria and Meera Deosthale), Harman-Saumya (Vivian D'Sena and Rubina Dilaik) and Parth-Shorvori (Siddharth Shukla and Rashmi Desai) swayed to some romantic tunes with the theme of this act being ‘romance in the snow world’. Popular stars of Shakti…Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki, Harman (Vivian) and Saumya (Rubina) set up an act which has never been witnessed on television. A fairytale romance took place, where Saumya (Rubina) appears from a fairytale book and interacts with Harman (Vivian). Through the act she appears like a miniature version of herself where Harman (Vivian) dances with her.

The young Shani (Kartikey Malviya) performed a theatrical fire act highlighting the Dev-Asur theme alongside Salman Yusuff Khan. Shani made a captivating entry on a vulture and teamed up with the popular X1X dance group for his performance.

Colors new show India Banega Manch was integrated in a dynamic way with various talented performers presenting the act from outside the venue, to inside among the audience exploring the geography of the venue.

Providing some comic relief with their tongue-in-cheek humour, guru’s of hosting, Karan Johar, Farah Khan, Manish Paul & Bharti Singh provided great support and helpful tips to Raghav Juyal, who was hosting the Colors Golden Petal Awards 2017 as the main host for the very first time. Popular television star Saumya (Rubina Dilaik) also hosted a segment with Raghav.

The Colors family members including, Jacqueline Fernandez, Ganesh Hegde, Malaika Arora Khan sportingly took part in various tasks and interactions. Many special and fun moments were created along with the audience and Colors family members.
