Toast Events Recreates Prompt Food Delivery Experience with Launch of UberEATS

Uber Technologies launched UberEATS, a food delivery service on May 2, in Mumbai. Rolling out the special service to the members of the media, UberEATS held a special luncheon for over 80 key media influencers, giving a flavor of their unique standalone food delivery app UberEATS.

Given the mandate to conceptualize and execute the event, Toast Events in creative collaboration with UberEATS, created a premium event complete with 40-feet long dining tables and classy sleek deco, keeping focus on the app, yet giving the guests a true UberEATS dining experience.

Toast worked a concept plan giving the guests an experience extension right from the time they arrived to the time they left. Guests were greeted with a delivery bike installation as they entered the venue. Creating a unique event showcase, Mehboob Studios was converted into a dream-like set up with ambient lighting décor created from using over 200 bulbs.

To recreate the food delivery experience, Toast Events set up kitchens inside the venue for UberEATS restaurant partners. As the brand talked about their unique technology, where the app will serve you restaurants not only based on preferred location and price but also on dietary requirements, the kitchens prepared lunch.

The audience was taken through an order placed on the app and as it was done, the order was sent to the kitchen to be delivered. In the next 30 minutes as the brand continued to enthrall the audience with the app features as the lunch was served.

Taking back experiences from the event, an UberEATS-themed photo booth was set for guests to take pictures and revel in the magic.

Commenting on the event, Zeeon Rodrigues – Operations Lead, Toast Events added, “Creating an event related to food in a space which is not designed for it was a challenge. Meticulous planning on creating parallel setups, within the same venue where on sides was the kitchen area and the other being the media area, we had to ensure food smell and noise not travel. The décor too was unconventional which pushed us to meticulously plan and execute the event in detail."
