International Live Events Association (ILEA) - Middle East Chapter has strengthened its association with the WOW Awards and Convention Asia 2017 and has come on board as Supporting Industry Association. Recent years have witnessed an increase in inbound MICE visitors to the region and also a growing number of live events co-organised by India and UAE-based agencies, and ILEA’s presence at the event is expected to take forward synergies between the Indian event industry and that of the Middle East, especially the UAE. The WOW Awards Asia 2017 will take place from July 6 to 8 at New Delhi Aerocity.

The International Live Events Association is the association for event industry professionals who are passionate about knowledge, networking and event creativity. ILEA provides a platform for the best practitioners in the creative event industry to connect and share ideas. The Middle East Chapter was formed in 2009 and today has over 180 members.

Lee Charteris, the current President of the ILEA Middle East chapter is on the jury of the WOW Awards Asia 2017 and will be judging Group E categories (Experiential Management). Sharing his experience associating with the platform since 2016, he remarked, "Having been invited to give the keynote speech and then attending WOW Awards and Convention Asia 2016, my eyes were opened to not only the diversity but also to the stature of the Indian event market. I am truly honoured to be invited to be a juror for the WOW Awards Asia 2017 and I know already based on the calibre of last year’s winners that I have tough job ahead of me.”

Dan Bolton, Director and Co-Founder of Dan Bolton Talent Management and Creative Consultancy is the incoming President of the ILEA Middle East Chapter, and will be attending the WOW Awards Asia 2017 with Charteris. Talking about the significance of the Indian market in cross-region business, he said, “The Indian market is a huge opportunity to the live events industry in the region so supporting the WOW Awards Asia is of great importance to us as the industry grows from strength to strength. With such a large and dynamic entertainment and events market only a few short hours flight time from hubs including Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Doha, the opportunities to cross support and link into business opportunities both in India and the GCC is significant for all our members.”

Both Charteris and Bolton will be present at the WOW Awards Asia 2017 to represent ILEA, and will be available to network with industry professionals in India.

Elaborating on how associating with a platform like WOW Awards Asia benefits ILEA members, Bolton commented, “It's no secret that the leaders of the GCC countries want to attract increasing business to the region and the live events industry is seen as a key generator of such growth. Working with industry events including the WOW Awards Asia helps promote the region as a live event destination, highlights the significant role that ILEA members play in delivering world class events as well as potentially developing commercial opportunities for Indian-based producers and suppliers to enter the UAE market.”

The ILEA Middle East Chapter has come on board as Supporting Industry Association to the WOW Awards and Convention Asia 2017 which will take place from July 6 to 8 at New Delhi Aerocity.
