Epicurean Guild Awards Celebrates the Best Fine-Dining Restaurants and Lounges

Lifestyle channel Living Foodz organized the first edition of Epicurean Guild Awards at an entertaining evening of glitz and glamour on March 31 at Grand Hyatt, Mumbai. The event recognized and celebrated fine-dining restaurants and the best lounges in Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru. Best New Restaurant, Best Nightlife Award and category-wise awards for the Best Italian, Global, Asian, Multi-cuisine, Indian cuisine and Best Seafood were awarded at the do. Living Foodz also introduced the Popular choice award and ‘Bombay Canteen’, ‘Big Chill’ and ‘Karavalli, The Gateway Hotel’ emerged as the clear winners of Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru.

The jury comprising India’s finest food mavens and eminent personalities like Bhaichand Patel, Chef Ajay Chopra, CokeStudio fame Clinton Cerejo, Chef Gautam Mehrishi, Devita Saraf, Kalyan Karmakar, Nicole Mody, Hemamalini Maiya, Pankaj Bhadouria, Prasad Bidappa etc. selected winners in each category based on different parameters. Other prominent personalities who presented the awards to the winners at the event were actress Pooja Bedi, Chef Ranveer Brar, television star Rati Pandey, actor Aman Verma, RJ Hrishikesh Kannan, Maria Goretti, Manu Chandra, Rakhee Vaswani and Zeba Kohli among others.

KPMG in India were the Process Advisors & Evaluators for this Award. After shortlisting the top entries in each category, the jury assigned a score to each of them in a unique ‘Flames Round’ where each denoting a different standard of culinary excellence. Living Foodz introduced a significant Iconic Award for the exceptional restaurants and lounges which were awarded three flames and declared as winners. This award was bagged by ‘Masque’ and ‘Indian Accent, The Manor’ for the cities of Mumbai and Delhi respectively, for showcasing an exemplary dining experience. The night commenced with a mesmerizing performance by the band, Blackstratblues. A solo project of Warren Mendonsa, the band has played some prestigious gigs such as NH7 Weekender, Sulafest 2012, Indigo & Blues 2012 and Mahindra Blues Fest 2012 & 2014. The event was a perfect amalgamation of great food and fun, and was hosted by Archana Vijay accompanied by actor-comedian Varun Thakur.
