Ranbir Kapoor Atlantis, The Palm Global Teacher Prize GS Worldwide Entertainment
GS Worldwide Entertainment recently facilitated Ranbir Kapoor’s association with Global Teacher Prize 2017 for its client Varkey Foundation. The event took place on March 19 at The Atlantis Hotel on The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. Around 2500 people attended.
The agency’s responsibilities included coordinating Ranbir Kapoor’s travel, logistics and smooth running of his activities, as well as flow of events. Ranbir Kapoor interacted with kids and spoke about his teachers who helped him achieve everything in life.
GS Worldwide Entertainment came to manage this association as Bunty Walia shares a cordial relation with the Varkey Family, and is every year instrumental in getting someone who believes in the cause ‘Teachers Matter’. The Varkey Foundation is a not-for-profit organization established to improve the standards of education for underprivileged children throughout the world. Their mission is that every child should have a good teacher.
The event saw Excellencies & Celebrities present speeches on the importance of Teachers and the importance of them in their lives, followed by videos being played featuring Prime Ministers of different countries including Canada, Italy, Kenya, etc., giving speeches on how Teachers make a difference in everyone's lives and support for the cause. Even Prince Harry gave a video message supporting the cause.
Bear Gylls skydived from above the palms with the winner’s trophy directly to the event. The winner was announced from a live broadcast from a space shuttle currently in space.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was present and gave away the trophy to the winner - Maggie Mcdonnell from Canada who won the award of Global Teacher Prize 2017.
Celebrites present interacted with kids and the global media present at the red carpet followed by a grand GTP party which took place.
Stars present at the event other than Ranbir Kapoor included Dwight Yorke, Brian Lara, Bear Grylls, Mahira Khan, and more.
