High Street Phoenix Gypsy Travel Festival 2017 GTF 2017 Fiji Tourism Israel Tourism

The year 2017 is going to be chock-a-block-full of travel plans as High Street Phoenix is hosting India’s first ever curated travel festival, Gypsy Travel Festival 2017 on January 28 and 29 at the Courtyard. The festival brings together some of the biggest organizations, brands and opinion leaders from the travel industry to make travel a par for the course in people's daily lives.

Gypsy Travel Festival 2017 will witness big-ticket partners like FIJI Tourism, Israel Tourism and Malaysia Tourism, and participation from names like Trafalgar (International luxury travel & tour operators), White Collar Hippie, Blueberry Trails, The Wanderers, Lacadives, and Kipepeo (organizers of Eco Tourism in the North-East of India) amongst others. Eager travelers will get a chance to interact directly with destination experts to plan, customize and even book holidays on one platform. A plethora of industry experts will give the audiences of the event first-hand information on off-beat and new destinations, travel dynamics, fast-tracking visa processes, and a lot more.

#GTF2017 will also host interactive sessions with Sumer Verma (India’s most sought after underwater photographer), Rohit Subramanium (biker who has travelled all across India), international blogging gurus like Rachel Jones (Hippie In Heels), and Indian travel bloggers Sankara Subramanium (Be On The Road) and Ajay Jain (Kunzum Travel Cafe), amongst many others.

In association with Travel Partners Lonely Planet and Top Gear, experience partners Audio Compass, and entertainment partners The Vibe, the festival will also encompass other entertainment avenues such as virtual reality tours, short films, cultural and thematic performances, live music and a vast array of street food from all corners of the globe. #GTF2017 will aid the modern Indian traveler to look at a destination as a wholesome and ethereal experience rather than just as a means to get away from work.

When asked, what led them to the idea of #GTF2017, Sumit Lulla, Co-founder, Gypsy Travel Network said, “In India, there is a clear disconnect between the traveler and the destination due to the convoluted flow of information that gets lost amongst different intermediaries. This disconnect affects the perception of any potential traveler in terms of accessibility, desirability and the notability value of a destination. The #GTF2017 hopes to take the first steps necessary towards commercially bringing about change in how Indians perceive travel.”

Nelson Noronha, Co-founder, Gypsy Travel Network said, “The unique participants and businesses represented at the Gypsy Travel Festival 2017 all share the same vision and are top industry experts who are constantly innovating and trying to bring about the new change in Indian travel habits. Despite the limitations of the Indian passport, we have traveled the length and breadth of the planet and wanted other fellow Indian travel enthusiasts to be able to experience the same. We want #GTF2017 to springboard a new generation of travelers into having unique personal travel experiences themselves.”

Rajendra Kalkar, President - West, The Phoenix Mills Ltd., upon being partners for the event, said “While we host events and festivals pertaining to food, shopping, art, music, culture, etc, we are now also going to host a traveling festival for our patrons which is one of its kind. It gives an amazing opportunity for all our shoppers to explore new destinations which are customized and also lets them plan their holidays as per their convenience. High Street Phoenix as a center offers a vast array of experiences and it only makes sense to host an event of this kind.”

The Gypsy Travel Festival 2017 will be held on January 28 and 29 at the Courtyard, High Street Phoenix.
