Wedding Duo

This stunning ring ceremony by Wedding Duo evolved from the theme ‘Garden of Eden’. The event took place recently at the client's privately owned farmhouse in New Delhi.

Two large hangars were set up across two adjacent lawns, the first as a social and entertainment venue and the second for dining. Covering an area of around 15,000 square feet, the entire space was platformed and carpeted to give an even and cushioned walk.

The DJ for the evening was the celebrated Gaurav Malvai. The food was catered by Kwality, while the bar was manned by the team of Pralay.

This entire setup started a week in advance at the private farm of the client. Twenty foot long carpeted steps were built to step down from the driveway to enter the celebration area.

The ‘Garden of Eden’ brought in all the trees of their lawns and was open from the sides, draped gently with white curtains having lace trimmings.

This element was carefully carried forward across to the cushions and the dressing of the ottomans in the social area, as well as the table runners and chair covers in the dining area.

A 10-foot high white orchid peacock perched on a golden cage filled with tall pillar candles welcomed the guests as they walked through gate that was beautifully treated with creepers and garden flowers.

An all-white story, symbolising purity and simplicity was set up between the scallops at a height of 24 feet, while the ceiling hung lovely clear crystal chandeliers.

As the bride and groom were both young laywers and had an immense love for books, their entire stage backdrop were rows and rows of old books enveloped by a lovely thick border of hydrangeas, brassica, daisies and more. Lots of foliage was interspersed in this huge backdrop giving the books that touch of green.

The seating in the social area was a nice melange of beige and white.

A nice wide tree with several branches became the Wish Tree where hung crystals, lace, candles and tags shaped as jars to write a note for the couple.

On the other end of this hangar was a very long running mirror bar with wooden parquet flooring hosting bar tables and high chairs. Exotic orchids in water with floating candles dressed these bar tables.

Lovely pockets of anti-pasti and live stations of international cuisine were created in this hangar to service the numerous guests as they mingled and enjoyed the series of entertainment planned.

The dining was the most surreal part of this white garden. Suspended from the top came strategically hung cymbidium orchids right till the center of the rows of rectangular tables.

The tables were kept minimal with jute and lace runners, jute to give that feel of naturelle with pairs of pillar candles in glass cylinders. And right above you at eye level, around 3 feet above the tables were dropped white orchids on bamboo.

Although the elements were very basic, whe put together they created the most regal look.
