Cream Events managed and executed Reliance Communications (RCOM) very first annual Global Cloud Xchange Sales Kickoff, held from May 4 to 6, 2016. Over 450 team members from the America, Europe, Australia-New Zealand, Asia Pacific and India were part of this 3-day conference, at the Hyatt Regency, Manesar Gurgaon.
The concept being the search for the ultimate JEDI, the best salesperson, the theme of the conference was ‘The Force Behind Digital’, which was inspired by the popular entertainment franchisee, ‘Star Wars’. RCOM's business is about providing a strong backbone for the internet, therefore, creating a futuristic fantasy world resonated further with their business objective. All communication that led up to the days of the conference i.e. invitations, save the dates, e-mailers, conference kits, delegate badges, etc…set the tone for the thematic conference.
The conference on May 4 had a lightsabre-inspired podium, Star Wars Millennium Falcon inspired stage, as well as teleportation based on entry mechanism & pre-shot A/V’s for speaker entries and introductions that stitched together the content that was to be presented to the RCOM GCX team.
The leadership team presentations were a total Star Wars package with sound and visual effects – ensuring organic conversations around the subject. The entire narrative was built by the client, however, the stage rehearsals for the same ensured an engaging and entertaining experience. The formal proceedings of the meeting concluded with an award ceremony that recognized achievers at RCOM GCX.
The theme for the gala night, ‘Intergalactic Bollywood’, was created in line with the rest of the conference, maintaining the same audio/visual feel but with the objective of letting the employees have a ball.
An anti-gravity booth, Tron based opening act, a 40-foot custom dance floor & several other touchpoints were curated for the evening gala. According to the agency, the biggest challenge here was to turn around the set-up for the conference into the gala dinner in less than 2 hours.
On the successful completion of the show, Zarif Tapia, Director at Cream Events said, “We are always looking out to do work that is different – in every sense. With this event we were lucky to find one of the most interesting corporate conference briefs – STAR WARS! While we’ve wanted to pitch something like this all our lives, it’s a brave client that makes it possible. One of the challenges were to plan the entire event with the client’s office in Hong Kong and we’re glad that there was no loss of communication. The show was executed without any glitches & the client met their objective.”
