GMR Group's '10 Year Journey of Joy' Turns IGI Airport into Celebratory Zone For 9 Days

CS Direkt recently turned the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport into an incredible interactive zone for travellers to celebrate GMR Group’s 10 year journey of joy. As this year is the 10th anniversary (2006-2016) of the infrastructure company managing the IGI Delhi Airport, the brief assigned to CSD was to get passengers to enjoy their time at the airport as well as bring along beautifully captured memories along with exciting prizes and amazing shopping discounts.

The GMR Group planned this engaging activity from May 10 to 19, 2016. The campaign was entitled as,'GMR 10 Years of Excellence - Celebrating Journeys of Joy'. Both the International Terminal (T3) and the Domestic Terminal (T1) was teeming with passengers of all age groups waiting for a photo opportunity and enjoying their time spent at the airport. 

The IGI Airport had a bunch of fun, interactive games, including a flash-mob who kept people busy with their performances. Also, ‘The GMR History Wall’ that showcased the company’s milestones and achievements, was popular amongst the travellers. Also attractive were photo-op installations such as the famous sling-shot which had a special twist, where passengers clicked photos and shot them on a giant screen, where the joy of being given a splendid day filled with amazing prizes like winning a trip to Australia and a giant screen featuring their pictures was evident.

According to CSD, there were more than 12,000+ participants in various games. The agency also confirmed that more than 1 lakh chocolates were distributed to celebrate GMR’s 10 years of journey of joy.

Commenting on putting together this mammoth project, Luv Mahajan, Client Servicing, CS Direkt said, “We wanted to ensure that passengers really feel the joy of having transited through this beautiful and extremely well planned airport. This is a state-of-the-art facility and a crowning glory of India’s Airports. It was amazing to see so many people gathering to participate in the excitement built up around the interactive zone and photo-op installations, but most of all to see a group of javans, ‘the protectors of our nation’ having a joyous selfie moment.
