Over 900 Attendees Give A Thumbs Up To The First Edition Of The Indian Fitness Festival

Time of Sports The Indian Fitness Festival

The first ever fitness festival of the country received a positive response with a turnout of over 900 people in Ambience Island, Gurgaon on 30th April 2016.  Indian Fitness Festival, an intellectual proprietary of Time Of Sports (a Sports Consulting Company) organised activities such as Live Pro-Boxing matches in association with North India Boxing Association (NIBA) and Professional Boxing Organization India. The event also witnessed professional boxing for women in India wherein Kirti Kumar won and Anita Maurya was the runner’s up.

There was also a Body Building Show and Concept Fitness Workshops for the spectators. In the Super bantam category boxing match, Honey Singh was declared the winner whereas in the heavy-weight category, Vikas Hooda was the winner. Arm wrestling championship was held throughout the event in alliance with the Arm Wrestling Association of Delhi. The festival saw people participating in slow cycle race, beach volleyball and Bollywood Zumba. There were various workshops and talks for the present on naturopathy and on sports medicine by Sir Gangaram Hospital. For kids, the event had a special kid zone wherein they could enjoy the sports designated for them.

A special Corporate Sand Futsal Tournament and an elaborate Obstacle Run with water obstacles were also the highlight of the event. To mix fitness with fun, a first ever fitness concert by DJ Tatva K, later in the evening, saw the crowd grooving to the pulsating music. 

Many sports personalities such as Mehtab Singh (Arjun Awardee; Indian Boxing Selection Committee), Kuldeep Vats (Delhi Olympic Association President; Joint Secretary Indian Olympics), Mahavir Singh (Dronacharya awardee), Manoj Kumar (Olympian , Arjun Awardee; CWG Champion), Dilbaag Singh (Undefeated 11 times National Champion; CWG Medallist) were also present at the event. Rajkumar Sangwan, India’s first professional heavyweight boxer and currently the President of Indian Boxing & Sports Academy said, “Today’s youth are stuck in their corporate culture and have unknowingly restricted them to a complacent lifestyle. This event is a novel and a brilliant idea for the youth to pursue fitness and mix it with sports. I strongly believe in the adage of – Swastha Yuva. Swastha Bharat.” 

Speaking at the occasion, Yashraj Singh, CEO, Time Of Sports said “Sports and Fitness have always run on parallel adjacent lines. With this festival we aim to go beyond the trend and towards a revolution. Time Of Sports wants to take forward the spirit of fitness in every home, make anyone and everyone get fit, make them go the extra mile for a fitter lifestyle and want to make people aware about healthy living! We plan to utilize the sports budgets in creating Sports Days for all as well as extrapolate the Consultancy to the upcoming Leagues as well.”
