EEMAGINE 2016 Day 2 Begins: Messages to the Event Industry from EEMA President and Industry Leaders

Day 2 of EEMAGINE 2016, the ninth annual convention of the events and entertainment management association (EEMA) began on a musical note with star performers Merlyn D’Souza, Vivienne Pocha and Rhys D’Souza awakening patriotism amongst attendees with their melodious renditions of the National Anthem and Vande Matram.
Post this spectacular beginning, President EEMA, Sabbas Joseph, got onto the stage to deliver the welcome address for the day. Speaking to members of the event industry Sabbas Joseph said, “Brian Tellis, Micheal Menezes and a few other friends started the journey of EEMA nine years ago, and today we have indeed come a long way." Joseph added that the members of the events industry should adapt the vision of the honourable Prime Minister and adopt causes like Clean India, Skill India, Digital India and Make in India.
Joseph concluded his address by saying, “We as members of the industry have access to people with spending capacity and it is upon us to create our stories of Amazon, Ola, Makemytrip and others. We must bring this positive change in our country.”
Vikram Chandra, CEO, NDTV News delivered the inaugural address of the day and spoke about how mass media campaigns can contribute towards making of 'The India of My Dreams". He said, “Everyone from the national to the local government needs to come together to build a dream India and the correct way of achieving the same is that instead of blaming each other, we collaboratively try to find solutions for the same.”
Col. Rajyavardhan Rathod, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting also made his presence felt at the EEMAGINE convention. Addressing the attendees at the convention, Rathod applauded the events industry for coming a long way since the 1990s. He said, “We bank on the event industry a lot because you enhance the experience of each event and make it better. India needs the event industry and I wish you were more close to us.”

Dr. A. Didar Singh, Secretary General, FICCI delivered the Special Address of the day on the theme of Skill India. In his address Singh spoke about how millions are losing their jobs as a result of disruptive marketing every year and the solution for the same is to focus more on practical aspects of the nature of a job.

With this Day 2 of EEMAGINE 2016 got onto a heady start, setting the right tone for the sessions that followed.
