Acer India announced its alliance with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the current season of Indian Premier League. The PC brand will be IPL Bangalore franchise’s exclusive technology partner and will receive visibility on the headgear worn by RCB players as well as extensive cooperation over sports events, on-ground activations, and marketing campaigns in the next one year.

The deal is a strategic win for both the brands as they share the ‘technology first’ philosophy. Acer has been making significant spends across the entertainment industry to effectively position itself as a new age media and entertainment brand, going beyond its current perception of a computing-only brand. Cricket being the biggest entertainer in the country was an obvious association choice for Acer, given the entertainment value that it brings to the table in addition to the popularity of the sport across India.

Announcing this partnership, S.
