Cineyug Mirchi Music Awards Yash Raj Studios

The 8th Royal Stag Mirchi Music Awards 2016 took place on Feb 29 at Yash Raj Studios, Mumbai. Managed by Cineyug, the event was telecast on March 13. The event was a starry affair, honouring top musicians and singers in the Bollywood fraternity.

Sonu Nigam, together with singers Neeti Mohan, Aditi Singh Sharma, and Shraddha Pandit hosted the event. Sunil Grover thrilled the audience by showing up in various avatars - a struggling lyricist and a qawal.

Rajesh Roshan won the Lifetime Achievement award for which the entire 'Roshan Parivaar' honoured him. Actor Hrithik Roshan sang a few lines of his Chacha's favourite songs and mentioned that he is a huge fan of Rajesh Roshan.

As for performances at the event, Honey Singh sang his hits; this was followed by a battle between Mika and the new age rapper Badshah. Music composer duo Sachin-Jigar sang their songs like Jeena Jeena, Bezubaan Phir Se, Saibo, etc. Newbies on the block like Antara Mitra, Aman Trikha, and Vaishali Made sang some of their hits of 2015. Also, music maestros Lalit, Sadhana, and Alka Yagnik made a tribute to the Late Aadesh Shrivastav.

Shah Rukh Khan was present and interacted with fans, also releasing a theatrical trailer of the film ‘Fan’ at the event. While Nakash Aziz sang the title track of the upcoming movie for the actor, Antara Mitra of 'Gerua' played Kajol's part and danced with him. Aditi Singh Sharma got to sing along with both Sonu Nigam and SRK.

It was a fun-filled evening where the entire music fraternity came together and celebrated the success of musicians in Bollywood.
