Etihad The Irish House

The Irish House is all set to paint the city green on this weekend. The pub is bringing a St. Patrick’s Day Carnival to Mumbai with a ‘rural Irish landscape’ at the Courtyard of High Street Phoenix and other outlets in the city. A grand Irish experience is guaranteed on March 12-13, with games, pop up shops, a street parade, and live performances, paired with chilled beer and great food from noon to 10 pm.

A #FlyToIreland Instagram contest is also being organised by the Irish pub chain, in association with Etihad Airways. Visitors at any of The Irish House outlets can participate in the contest by sharing their ‘Irish moment’ on Instagram, tagging @theirish_house and @etihadairways. Two lucky Instagramers stand the chance to win return tickets to Dublin. The results of the contest will be announced by The Irish House and Etihad Airways on the last day (Mar 13) of the carnival.

Highlights of the weekend Carnival at The Irish House include some breathtaking mixology skills and bartending moves by one of India’s best bartenders, Ami Shroff; Djembe drum circle by Taal Inc; and jam session between renowned percussionist JonQui and DJ Gavin. Day 2 of the Carnival, Sunday - Mar 13 will have a St. Patrick’s Day Street Parade featuring unicyclists, jugglers, clowns, stilt walkers, musicians, cheerleaders and more making their way down the “Dublin Street”. The festivities will conclude with a power packed performance by one of India’s top Pop Rock bands, The Other People.

Apart from chilled green beer and Irish Whiskey at the exclusive Jameson Bar, several food pop ups will serve fries, Fish & Chips, a variety of burgers and other Irish delicacies. Those looking for a challenge can participate in ‘Man Vs Burger’ and try to chow down a 1.5kg burger. Giant Jenga, the traditional Irish Hurling, Karaoke, and The Irish Wheel of Fun will also keep visitors engaged. A Irish Farmers Market will sell Dubliner cheese by Kerrygold, cookies from Sweetish House Mafia, artisan dips & sauces by Saucery and more. For a souvenir, an Irish Photo Booth with cool props, has also been set up.

The carnival also offers a pampering session with foot massages, that too for a good cause! The massages are provided by visually challenged masseurs who are trained at The Victoria Memorial School for the Blind, and give massages for a living.
