Kids On Ramp-age Back At Select Citywalk For A Fourth Edition

Navjyoti India Foundation, in association with India Vision Foundation (IVF), hosted ‘Kids on Ramp-age’ on Feb 6, 2016 at Select Citywalk, Saket, New Delhi. The unique fashion show is an initiative focused on providing education to the children of prison inmates and those from urban slums, vocational training to youth, women empowerment, and rural development in the villages of Delhi and Haryana.
Icons from the corporate world joined the kids on the ramp for a catwalk, drawing attention towards their untapped talent and the need for equal opportunities in terms of Quality Education, Better Standard of Living, and Vocational Training. The event was attended by Dr. Kiran Bedi, Founder Member, Navjyoti India Foundation, along with more than 300 attendees from India and abroad. Speaking on the occasion, Bedi said, “Kids on Ramp-age enables children in education with Navjyoti and India Vision Foundation, to integrate with the Haves of Society --The Haves with the Have Nots learn to value each other.”
Kids on Ramp-age brings together the Beneficiaries and Patrons on the same platform, providing much needed support and mentoring to the kids and youngsters. The event help strengthen the emotional bond between the “provider and recipient”, as they spend time together, discussing their future plans and continued involvement/engagement with Navjyoti. ‘Kids on Ramp-age’ is now in its fourth year of operation and has seen a significant increase in donors who have made positive impacts to a noteworthy number of under-privileged lives.
This year, more than 100 beneficiaries in the age group of 4 - 22 years from Navjyoti’s Project Houses spread across Delhi and 70 villages of Haryana, walked the ramp with around 50 special achievers and celebrities from the corporate and social world. Designers from India, Dubai, and Thailand designed an exclusive clothing range for the youngsters.
With the support of its partners, Navjyoti had planned a fun-filled event with a live band, memory walk-back for mentors and patrons with video clips, and partnership inductions for the new donors. Apart from Associate Partner Select Citywalk, others on board were Hospitality Supporter Radisson Blu & RJ Corp, Hair & Makeup Supporter Riya Vashisht, Event Supporter Limn Entertainment, Film Partner Acting Keeda, Choreography Supporters Panache Dance and Forever Dance, Imaging Partner Munish Khanna Academy, and PR Partner Buzz Communications, along with Clothing Support from Play It, Rags creation, Unnati, Cool Quotient/Via Italia, Hariyanvi, Rajni Bansal, and R U Play.
Navjyoti India Foundation is a not-for-profit organization founded by 16 serving officers of Delhi Police with a mission to work with the vulnerable sections of the society. India Vision Foundation, also a non-profit, voluntary, non-government organization, was born with the receipt of the Ramon Magsaysay Award by Dr Kiran Bedi in the year 1994 for forging 'positive relationships' between people and the police through creative leadership. It carries forward its service in the areas of Police and Prison Reforms, Women Empowerment among others. 'Saving the next victim' remains its mantra.
The unique fashion show for underprivileged kids and youngsters walking alongside icons from the corporate world, is organised by Dr. Kiran Bedi’s India Vision and Navjyoti India Foundations.
