Cineyug Umang Mahalaxmi Race Course

Cineyug managed the Umang Mumbai Police Show on Jan 19 at Mahalaxmi Race Course. Organised by the Mumbai Police, the Umang Mumbai Police Show is an annual charity event where all artists and entertainers perform for free. The police typically invite their families, VVIPs, celebrities and others. It is also viewed as a day where celebrities express their gratitude to the police force for its support and protection.

The evening began with host Sajid Khan making a ‘prisoner’ entry - guilty for making the movie Housefull 3. This was a humorous start to the night’s programme, which featured acts by popular celebrities of Bollywood. Arjun Kapoor performed on his latest hits Superman and Tune Mari Entriyaan. Making her stage performance debut, Athiya Shetty mesmerized all. Others who performed include Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi, Anushka Ranjan, Urvashi Rautela, Sonali Sehgal, Elli Avram, Daisy Shah and more.

Following this, Manish Paul taking over as the host for the night. He was supported by co-hosts Ritesh Deshmukh, Ronit Roy, Poonam Dhillon, Ileana Dcruz, Rishi Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.

Karan Johar along with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra - did the popular Disco Deewana hook step! Gurmeet Chaudhary and Gautam Gulati took did a dance performance on current popular party songs.

Stand-up comedians Bharti Singh, Kapil Sharma, Krushna Abhishek and Sudesh Lahiri put up acts to entertain the crowd. The evening also witnessed singing sensations Aditi Singh Sharma, Rahul Vaidya, Tulsi Kumar, Meet Bros, Palak Muchal, Armaan Mallik and Amaal Mallik come together and perform a conceptual act  medley of ‘T-Series Music Hits’ for 25 mins. Musical icons like Himesh Reshammiya, Shreya Ghoshal, Javed Ali, Pritam, Adnan Sami, Aakriti Kakkar, Kanika Kapoor and Mika Singh also performed. Farhan Akhtar and Aushmann Khurrana also sang.

Jacqueline Fernandez accompanied by Tiger Shroff performed on her popular song Jumme Ki Raat and Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan while Tiger did a few Parkour stunts on Whistle Baja.

Upcoming movie Sanam Re was integrated and promoted in the show, with a performance on the title track.

Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor along with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra were felicitated by the Police, which led to the launch of a calendar by the Mumbai police force.

Shahid Kapoor performed on Shaam Shandaaar while Deepika Padukone performed on Deewani Mastani and Pinga. SRK performed on Tukur Tukur and Gerua with female cops. The finale performance for the evening was by Ranveer Singh, who performed on his hits from Bajirao Mastani, including Malhari and Gajanana.

Personalities from the industry attending the event included Shilpa Shetty, Ranbir Kapoor, Shamita Shetty, Sonu Sood, Ramesh Sippy and more.

The charity event on Jan 19 featured performances by top Bollywood celebrities, singing sensations and stand-up comedians.
