Brandwidth Executes Offsite with the theme ‘My Benetton, My Passion’ for 250 Benetton Employees

On Dec. 23, 250 Benettonians gathered at the Westin Sohna Resort and Spa to enjoy a day of sports, teamwork, dance and music at their 2015 annual offsite. With the theme “My Benetton, My Passion”, this fun and power packed event was conceptualised and executed by Brandwidth Events for United Colours of Benetton, India. The aim was to acknowledge the passion of the workforce by letting them know that they define Benetton.

On the concept for the offsite, Vivek Mukherjee, Human Resources, Benetton said, “My Benetton, My Passion was a befitting concept as it allowed the employees to commemorate their passion for the company and motivate them to perform with even more zeal!”

In order to bring the theme alive and create buzz, Brandwidth came up with a pre-event hype plan that was put into action 2 weeks before the main event. During the days leading up to the event, innovative emailers were sent out, while Facebook was used as a platform to bring together all employees. To keep them hooked, an interesting contest was shared on the Facebook page. Further, the entrance door at the Benetton office as well as the reception area was branded to generate some excitement. The invites were delivered by hand by team captains dressed up in sport uniforms.

“With all the build-up created during the pre-event, it was crucial that we made the main event experience a grade higher with an elaborate set and action packed activities”, said Pranav Kumar, Senior Manager – Client Servicing, Brandwidth Events.

The main event was divided into two parts - the day consisting of sport activities and the gala night. During the day, the oval lawn at Westin was customised to give the look and feel of a sports field. Employees were divided into 4 teams and played games like cricket, arm wrestling, volleyball and a lemon spoon race. Live commentary by an emcee and music by a DJ helped maintain momentum. The highlight of the day was the tug-of-war, with everyone cheering loudly and demonstrating their passion to win.

The gala night began with the emcee engaging the crowd with his rap to get them excited. This was followed with a pledge taking ceremony, marking the beginning of the finale of all activities, The Dance Face Off. The Benettonians took a pledge to continue to succeed in their endeavours. Sky lanterns were released while a soothing background score was played.

"We wanted to create a special moment for everyone… something memorable”, said Kumar.

Mukherjee added, “The sky lantern idea after the pledge was the icing on the cake. It gave such an emotional high to all”.

Once again, the teams hit the dance floor, while the audience cheered. A red carpet photo op and an emcee interacting with the crowd generated an eventful experience for all.  Entertainment included a performance by the band ‘Desi Roots’ and later DJ Dhruv took the stage.

For the elaborate dance performances, backstage coordination was critical for Brandwidth. The agency also had to ensure the lanterns were released taking into consideration safety precautions.

The event on Dec.23 at the Westin Sohna Resort and Spa included a day of sport and activities followed by a gala evening.
