Cineyug Executes Stardust Awards Featuring Acts by Shahid Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez, and more!

A night of glitz, glamour and grandeur, the Sansui Colors Stardust Awards took place on Dec. 21 at Reliance Jio Gardens, BKC, Mumbai. Managed by Cineyug, the event saw Bollywood's biggest stars in attendance, while the evening was hosted by Farah Khan and Ritesh Deshmukh, and co-hosted by Nimrat Kaur.

Commenting on the management of this large star-studded event, Mohomed Morani, Director, Cineyug said, “This was the first Awards of the year held in December and which goes on air in the first week of January. The venue was the Jio garden, and this was first time such a large format show was done there. It was a huge challenge to work on the Astro turf. Also, the show had 10 acts, all of which used unusual, larger than life props with a lot of mechanism. For instance, the robot in Varun Dhavan’s act was 35 feet in Hightower with moving hands. It was challenging moving these props by cranes during a live event. It was a great experience, and the show was loved by one and all”.

Here are some of the highlights of the evening:

• The show opened with the set revelation by Shahid Kapoor, who welcomed the audience with a performance on his latest popular track Shaam Shandaar.
• The evening also saw Jacqueline Fernandez make a glamorous entry from within a larger than life disco ball and perform her act in two different areas - on stage and in a water body. She performed to her chartbuster songs including Chittiyan Kalaiyan, Sooraj Dooba Hai, Yaar Na Miley and Aa Zara.
• Performing a dreamy thematic sequence, Alia Bhatt used the fairy-tale of Snow White as her base concept with iconic larger than life talking mirrors, shoes, and perfumes as prop elements. She performed on a medley of Gulabo and Pataka Guddi, with verses of Tum Hi Ho and Gulabi Aankhein mixed conceptually.
• Varun Dhawan performed a robotic act inspired by the Transformers. The act had a larger than life robotic man, which served as the performing area for this act. Making a dramatic entry from the chest of this huge robotic structure, Varun Dhawan performed to a robot-themed mix of his popular songs Bezubaan, Manma Emotion Jaage and Jee Karda.
• Integrating the comeback of the popular show Khatron Ke Khiladi with Arjun Kapoor on Colors, as its host, the act brought forth the actor’s daredevil avatar, as he performed a smashing Bollywood stunt junky act with stunts as the concepts. This included a stunt with Python and a vehicle-meets-glass stunt on bikes. The act also revealed the title track of Khatron Ke Khiladi for the first time. Kapoor also performed on his popular track Superman.
• Debutant performer on award shows, Sonam Kapoor performed a delightful act on her latest release Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and the party anthem Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai.
• Daisy Shah put forth a stunning performance on her latest chartbuster hit song from Hate Story 3, Tu Ishqak Mera.
• Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol then performed a romantic act, integrating the movie Dilwale on their popular song Gerua.
• The finale act saw Ranveer Singh take the audience back to the time of ‘Bajirao’. The actor made a grand entry on a horse prop followed by a celebratory procession. The horse split open from the centre with a royal throne set within, revealing Singh. He performed on his latest songs Gajanana and Malhari. Sword fight sequences, a Ganesha bulb frame prop and other such elements were incorporated to create a royal feel to the act.
