Oberoi Group Hosts 4-Day Food & Beverages Conclave

The 2nd edition of the Oberoi Group’s Food and Beverages Conclave is being held from Jan 6 to 9, 2016, at The Oberoi, Gurgaon. Titled “The Golden Crust”, the four day conclave focuses on Bakery & Pastry and will have some of the biggest names in culinary world showcasing their skills. Chefs from various properties of the Oberoi Group will interact with the culinary experts from across the world and attend sessions by guest speakers. Rivaayat, the first edition of the conclave, held last year, was focused on Indian food. 

The Golden Crust will see Pastry Chefs from Trident and Oberoi Hotels in India, and popular patisserie experts from the US and Germany discussing various topics on Pastry and Baking.
 
Chef Anil Rohira - Executive Chef, The Oberoi, New Delhi, will conduct an interactive session on Entremets and Chocolate application. An alumnus of The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in New York, Chef Rohira is currently the Corporate Pastry Chef for Felchlin Switzerland and has won numerous awards. Chef Kriti Walia of Cupolicious, Germany will take on a session to discuss the conceptualizing, designing, and making of wedding cakes. Having worked with some of the biggest names in the business and earning a reputation of excellence in cake design, Kriti Walia caters to the likes of Cartier, Tiffany, and Kontrast. Sessions on Laminated and Artisan breads will be held by international baking expert, Chef Peter Yuen, who also owns the celebrated La Patisserie P in Chicago. The conclave will also have guest speakers to discuss the nuances of patisserie.

This initiative spearheaded by the Oberoi Group president Kapil Chopra, is led by Jay Rathore - Vice President and General Manager, The Oberoi New Delhi; David Mathews - General Manager, The Oberoi Gurgaon; and Nitesh Gandhi - General Manager, Trident Gurgaon, along with Chef Rohit Gambhir, Chef Ravitej Nath, and Chef Parvinder Bali from The Oberoi Group.

Commenting on the initiative, Kapil Chopra said, “The Golden Crust is the second of the six culinary conclaves that we have initiated as a part of our Food and Beverage Conclave. It is a privilege to have experts from across the world travel to India and share their experience with us. We also appreciate all our Chefs for their enthusiasm and look forward to a very successful and insightful second edition of the conclave.”

Chef Rohit Gambhir adds, “The food and beverage conclave is a unique initiative from The Oberoi Group to delve into finer nuances of gastronomy. The presence of Chefs from across the Group is a testimony to the importance The Oberoi Group gives to constantly create unique and interesting food experiences for our guests and food connoisseurs.”

The Oberoi Group would be conducting four more conclaves on topics including Oriental, Italian, Wines, and Cocktails.

The 2nd edition of the culinary conclave, titled “The Golden Crust”, focuses on Baking and Pastry. The on-going conclave is held from Jan 6 - 9, 2016 at The Oberoi, Gurgaon.
