Tennis Stars 'Walk For Chennai' At Fashion Show Held By Aircel Chennai Open 2016 & Reliance Trends

Aircel Chennai Open (ACO) 2016 in association with Reliance Trends held a fashion show at the Hyatt Regency in Chennai, on Jan 3, 2016. The event held as a tribute to the city that has hosted the ATP world Tour event for the last 20 years, has also lead to several flood relief initiatives by the organisers, their partners and sponsors. ‘Walk For Chennai’ also saw celebrities and tennis players take the ramp for a good cause.
Reliance Trends Spring/Summer’16 Indian and Western collections were showcased at the event hosted by former Indian tennis player, sports commentator, and actor, Vijay Amritraj. Actress Tapsee Pannu opened the show, while models and players followed in ensembles featuring soft cool fabrics and light pastel hues. International players Santiago Giraldo, Vasek Pospisil, and Oliver Marach posed headramp in trendy blazers and ‘Modi’ jackets. For most of the players, it was a first-time experience, strutting down the ramp.
The second sequence of the show had Indian players Sanam Singh and Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan on the ramp in summery shorts and t-shirts. They were accompanied by Nicolas Monroe and Fabrice Martin. Indian Davis Cup Captain Anand Amritraj also joined his brother and host of the evening, on the stage to walk down the ramp to a loud round of applause from the guests.
Apart from this tribute show for the city that has recently suffered heavily due to floods, Aircel Chennai Open along with its partners and sponsors have initiated various flood relief campaigns.
Reliance Trends is giving away 10,000 clothes to the Bhoomika Trust towards flood relief & rehabilitation . ACO is also launching #ACOCares with various initiatives raising money for the Chief Minister’s Relief Funds. Leander Paes will contribute Rs.1,000 for every winner and ace he hits in the tournament. Vijay Amritraj will contribute Rs.1 lakh, while title sponsors Aircel and partner Omnigel will be pitching in their contributions too.
AOC is also holding an auction of tennis memorabilia and other player-signed merchandise from the likes of Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, Stan Wawrinka and many others. The auction has items put into 3 packages, and bidding is acceptable only for a complete package. The silent bidding will be done by ballot boxes which are placed at the stadium venue and the winning bidders will be declared on the final day of the week, just before the finals.
