Hamleys Goes All Out to Engage Customers During Christmas

Hamleys is organising “Christmas at Hamleys” activities and engagements at its stores across the country from Dec 19 to 25. Managed by the brand’s internal marketing team, these activities include ‘Letters to Santa’, Google Hangouts and other in-store activities. Through this, the footfalls at Hamleys during the Christmas week are expected to increase to more than 3000 per store and more than 5000 on Christmas Eve and Christmas day per store.

On the conceptualisation of these store activities and engagements, Karandeep Singh, Business Head, Hamleys India said, “Hamleys has always been more than just a toy store. ‘Christmas at Hamleys’ is a week-long celebration of festivities of fun, interactive activities held at Hamleys stores. This includes Santa visits, workshops, games, the signature Hamleys Christmas parade, gorgeous interactive installations and much more. The Hamleys experience is about its unique brand of theatre and entertainment which transports families to a world of fun and discovery. All our activities and campaigns are designed keeping this in mind. We want our customers to have a wholesome experience on their visit to a Hamleys store during Christmas and enjoy the festive sprit of the season.”

Google Hangouts with Santa gave kids the opportunity to interact with Santa via the Google hangout facilitated by Hamleys at its stores. This took place on Dec 19 at stores in High Street phoenix, Mumbai; Ambience Vasant Kunj, Delhi; and Phoenix Market City, Bangalore.

‘Letters to Santa’ is an annual property where kids are given the opportunity to get a personal visit from Santa himself. Kids are invited to write to Santa about their good deeds in the year and about the toy they want. This is followed by a visit by Santa with their toy. This year, letters could be sent via email, WhatsApp, or even through a website developed for this purpose - www.letterstosanta.in. Participating kids also get to attend a Hamleys exclusive Christmas party.

Christmas workshops are also being organised from the 19 to the 23 at all stores. This includes Christmas themed Art & Craft activities, card making, Christmas tree decoration-making, and more. Other activities and engagements that will take place on the 24 and 25 will feature a Balloon Sculptor, a tattoo artist, and an interactive Christmas Parade.

With installations and in-store Christmas activities, home visits by Santa, a workshop and a parade, Hamleys expects footfalls at each store to reach around 5000 on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
