Hero MotoCorp’s ‘Tree of Light’ is an initiative to deliver well-lit solar powered libraries that benefit communities without access to electricity or in areas where power outages are common. The activity is especially focused on children whose studies are affected by unreliable power supply. Each installation will be built using 150 - 200 light bulbs and without using an actual tree. Speaking about the association, Hemant Dahiya, MD - Salt XP, said, “Education holds a very significant value in today’s world. Hero has added an innovative aspect to the way we look at things, The tree of light will not only address the power cut issue but will also make education relevant for the kids by giving them a space to read and play. The installation uses solar renewable energy making it sustainable. We are very proud and excited to be a part of it.” Sumati Bali, Sr. Group Head - Salt XP, adds, “It was not just about executing the activity, since it involves kids we have been extra cautious, the tree has been rubber coated and rain sensors have been installed precautionary, making it shock & waterproof.”
