Over 10,000 music and motorcycle enthusiasts came together at the Richardson & Cruddas Foundry in Mumbai, for the 6th edition of Harley Rock Riders Festival. Held on Oct 30 -31, the unique festival showcased performances from Indian and international brands, a display of the recently launched Harley-Davidson MY16 Dark Custom Motorcycles, a museum dedicated to the journey of motorcycles and rock music over the years and official Harley Merchandise.
Festival goers were also entertained by the various contests too - Tushar Jaitley from TJ-Moto was announced as the winner of the Custom Champion contest. The contest featured 5 of India’s best independent motorcycle customizers – EIMOR Customs, TNT Motorcycles, Godspeed Customs, MotoMiu, and TJ Moto - enabling the motorcycle fanatics attending the festival to view some of the best custom talent in the country. The contest was judged by veteran Japanese custom bike builder Kaichiroh Kurosu of Cherry’s Company.
Speaking about the success of the event, Pallavi Singh, Director Marketing, Harley-Davidson India said, “This has been by far the biggest season of Harley Rock Riders. Together with our partner Guvera, Jameson and Only Much Louder we would like to thank all the music and motorcycle enthusiasts and fans for their ardent display of energy which made both the days so memorable! A special thanks to the independent bike builders who unleashed their creativity and built terrific custom Harley-Davidson motorcycles and to the Harley owners who rode down in unison to be a part of the festival.”
Celestial Teapot took away the top prize for the Find your Freedom contest, earning the chance to play for a live audience at next year’s edition of the music festival too. With Megadeth headlining the concert, Harley owners paid tribute to the iconic band with a special ‘Mega Rev’ through motorcycles. Megadeth also responded to the love of their fans from Bangalore with a performance on Oct 28, as a precursor to the main festival. The Reggae fans had their share and grooved to the tunes of wildly popular international band – The Wailers.
Arjun S. Ravi, Co-founder OML said, "It's been another amazing year hosting the festival in Mumbai. Harley Rock Riders has been the perfect platform for fans to connect their love for motorcycles and rock music. We saw a fantastic turnout this year especially with icons like Megadeth and The Wailers headlining the festival along with some great rock and metal acts from across India. We couldn't have asked for a better response from the crowd. We now look forward to revving up your experience for next edition of the festival."
Following HRR, the Harley-Davidson motorcycle Boot Camp was carried out in Mumbai on Nov 1, where riders experienced the Harley-Davidson culture and took their dream Harley for a ride.
