Universal India Events recently conceptualised and executed the 2015 Annual Awards Ceremony of Four Points by Sheraton Vashi, Mumbai. The spooky-themed evening was attended by around 175-200 people.
Hosted by anchor Dhwani Mittal, the event started with the guests entering the main banquet hall through the spooky tunnel created at the entrance area. Further a photo shoot with spooky props was also arranged. This was followed by staff performances and interactions with the audience.
Talking about the concept, Dheeraj Aroraa, Business Head, Universal India Events, said, “The brief was to make the annual award day special and memorable one as well as different from the earlier award shows. We gave few theme options and Spooky was the one we were asked to extend.”
On the event set up and implementation challenges, he further added, “Since it's a 4-star hotel and as per the theme, we had to give a spooky look and feel to the corporate-looking venue, which we did manage to get. There was a dark tunnel that we created between the entrance and banquet hall. It had all the spooky elements with horror music playing in the background with fog effects and two LIVE people who would move just when a person’s mind is occupied with the scary props and while crossing over the coffin. Unlike usual award shows that hire professional entertainers, the hotel staff themselves performed at the event as part of the evening's entertainment. Two choreographers were specially arranged to train the staff."
