Craftsvilla.com in collaboration with Femina hosted the first ever Ethnic Designer of the Year Awards to recognize the best design talent across the country. The gala night took place on Oct. 8 at The Leela, Mumbai.

The event was a platform for young, talented, aspiring fashion designers to create dramatic ethnic designs that would help mesmerize the world and aspire to make India as one of the leading fashion capitals of the world.

Bringing the concept to life, Toast Events created an event experience, extending the theme of the event about creating ethnic yet trendy apparels, across all elements of the event.

The set design presented an eclectic mix of Indian motifs with hues of modern structures. The beautiful bold blue and white patterned motifs set had a diamond shaped entrance created, while the other part of the set showcased exquisite chandeliers hung, accentuating the overall look. Giving it a unique twist, a royal Indian chair, vintage school candle stands and traditional tables were used interestingly on stage as props placements for models to pose against.

Shortlisted participants created and showcased their ensembles through a fashion show with the support and the expertise of Femina, Craftsvilla team alongwith reputed industry professionals. The awards were judged by eminent personalities, including Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shruti Hassan, Shaina NC and Jatin Kampani.

Speaking about the event, Pummi Khanchandani, Client Servicing Lead, Toast Events said, “This was the first time Femina and Craftsvilla were associating for a property. It was important to create an event experience that reflected the values of both the brands! The décor was a perfect blend of chic and ethnic, expressing both Femina and Craftsvilla and what they stand for.”

Commenting on the seamless event management, Deep Devgun, Operations Lead, Toast Events added, “We have had the opportunity to partner with Femina for several events, each event challenges us to do better and more, across the event experience, from décor to the technology, to other finer details. We love the challenge and are always geared for the next."

Managed by Toast Events, the set design reflected an eclectic mix of Indian motifs with hues of modern structures.
