The décor for the Delhi Reception was managed by Q Events by Geeta Samuel, while the Abu Dhabi events’ décor was handled by Oliver Dolz.

An ‘Arabian Fantasy’ Welcome Night

A rocking red carpet welcome party at the beach front awaited the guests. The sun-kissed outdoor décor, themed white and gold, accentuated the magical surroundings.

A group of Bedouins lined up with their fleet of pedigreed camels to welcome the to-be-wedded couple as they made a royal red-carpet entry to the beat of ‘A Sky Full of Stars’ and proceeded to join the gathered audience. TV and film actor Mona Singh and the charming VJ-Actor Cyrus Sahukar enlivened the proceedings as playful Masters of Ceremonies.

An 8-member belly dancing troupe, among the finest of such crews, having worked in the best shows worldwide, had the audience spellbound as they blended their signature moves with Arabic, Bollywood and World music. A mesmerizing fire-throwing trio act followed right after, and kept the energy flowing high.

Following this, Benny Dayal and troupe took the stage and belted out a high-energy set of chart-busting Bollywood hits. From there, the party never looked back as Dubai-based DJ Sameer took over.

'Mehfil-e-Rahat

An ode to Sufi, this night was designed in black, white and silver with a kiss of Euro-glam. Luxurious sofas on one level in concert-viewing style created just the right look and feel. Manasi Scott doing a contemporary-meets-fusion take on Sufiyana, with eclectic mash-ups was the apt opening act for this evening.

Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his troupe of classical musicians performed the most hypnotic and soul-laden live set which lasted for over 2 hours, and seemed to transcend eternity.

The Royal Nuptials

A befitting ‘Tribute to Global Royalty’ with an eclectic take on the finest of imperial traditions from East to West, from the sublime to the divine, the décor was spellbinding! Arab swordsmen, acting as ‘guardians’ to the doorway, chanted traditional celebratory folk songs to welcome the arriving guests, ranging from members of the Abu Dhabi and other royal families from the region to eminent dignitaries.

MEW conceptualised a traditional Indian Baraat with a Carnival twist which featured stilt walkers, circus performers, acrobats, unicyclists, a DJ Van with Dhol players and an incessant 4 hours of ‘give-it-all-you’ve-got’ revelry from an over-enthused crew of Baraatis.

Vedic-chanters and a Hindu priest enhanced the dignified solemnity and graciousness of the final wedding ceremonies under an open-to-sky Pergola, with the stars shining most radiantly.
