Wizcraft & Wedniksha manage the 2nd edition of the South African of The Year Awards

With three hours of live music, full sets from the artists, ANN7 South African of the Year celebrated the essence of South Africa organized to perfection by Wizcraft and Wedniksha on October 17, 2015 at the TicketPro Dome, Johannesburg, South Africa.

The event was attended by his Excellency President of South Africa, Mr. Jacob Zuma along with the crème de la crème of South Africa.

The selfie craze went to another level when host, Maps Maponyane clicked a selfie with the President!

Speaking about the success of the awards and the Blue carpet that went live on the channel, Bhavnesh Sawhney, Director, Wedniksha said, “The second edition of SATY was bigger and better! Wizcraft and Wedniksha joined hands yet again to create and execute one of the most prestigious awards of South Africa.”


SATY 2015 featured the biggest international and South African artists with live performances, never-before-done collaborations, celebrity guest appearances and live award presentations.

Audiences were seen tapping to the music of South African artists, Mafikizolo, AKA, Mango Groove, Chaino Sky, The soil and International sensation, Jason Derulo.

Celebrating two years of operations for Africa News Network (ANN7), the channel hosted the South African of The Year Awards 2015.

This year, the theme of the SATY awards was "Unity in Diversity" celebrating the essence of the Rainbow Nation.
The acts were interspersed by gags performed by Trevor Ghumbi and Nina Hasti, which made the audience fall off their chairs with laughter.

Each colour of the South African flag was designated to a performer in addition to using it as a part of the respective graphics, props and costumes.

The ceremony showcased award categories in fields like entertainment, sports, business, spirit of humanity, youth and lifetime achievement in addition to the very prestigious, South African of the Year Award.
The event was hosted by Cindy Nell, Miss Universe South Africa 2003 along with model Jo-Ann Strauss, along with TV presenters and actors, Maps Maponyane and Minnie Dlamini.
