Encompass Upstream WPP Stream 2016 St. Regis Hotel

Encompass managed WPP’s Upstream on Oct 9 at the Pallazio Ballroom, St. Regis Hotel, Mumbai. The event was a precursor to WPP Stream, an ‘(un)conference’ organised for WPP clients and industry leaders to discuss the digital future and what that means for communication, creativity and content. Upstream was attended by 120 people.

Unlike most conferences, Stream encourages discussion and participation and doesn’t just feature keynotes and presentations. Upstream was conceputalised as a build-up to Stream 2016, which will be held at the Fairmont Jaipur. The event saw industry stalwarts like Shireesh Joshi, COO - Strategic Marketing, Godrej; Ashish Hemrajani, Founder CEO, BookMyShow; and Vikas Bahl, celebrated film director, who in discussion with Sir Martin Sorrell, shared their thoughts on the impact of changing dynamics in the marketing industry due to digital disruption. The event was moderated by Roshan Abbas, Chairman, Geometry Global Encompass Network.

Expressing their appreciation for the agency’s work, Apoorva Vig, Director, WPP Stream India remarked, “We thank Encompass for everything, and appreciate the team’s effort at putting up the show. It's been a pleasure working with them.”

The evening was themed as a journey on a highway to marketing innovation where Sir Martin Sorrell was the head driver guiding everyone through various marketing terrains, while industry leaders joined this journey in between and added value and shared their thoughts.

WPP, the host of the event, is also the mother company of Encompass Events, which plans and executes their events.

As a precursor to Stream 2016, the event saw industry stalwarts discuss with Sir Martin Sorrell digital disruption and its impact on various marketing dynamics.
