At a press conference on Oct. 15 at the Oberoi Trident, Mumbai, the automobile company, Nissan Motor Co. agreed to a major eight-year deal with the International Cricket Council (ICC).
The agreement, which runs through 2023, confirms Nissan as a global sponsor of cricket's international tournaments, including the ICC Cricket World Cup, ICC Champions Trophy and ICC World Twenty20, as well as U-19 and Women's Cricket and qualifying events.

Managed by Encompass Events, the conference commenced with an insightful session by Roel de Vries, Corporate Vice President, Global Head of Marketing & Brand Strategy, Nissan Motor Co. He introduced the media to the vision behind this collaboration and Nissan’s sense of excitement in becoming a partner in the world of cricket.
Speaking about this partnership, Roel said, “As partners with the ICC, we will introduce ways to enrich the experience of cricket fans through our rights with the global Trophy Tour, the International Flag Bearer Program and new live event experiences.”
Roel was then followed by other prominent personalities from Nissan & ICC, including David Richardson, Chief Executive, International Cricket Council, Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations and Arun Malhotra, Managing Director, Nissan Motor India. The dignitaries also signed a cricket bat on stage to commemorate the amazing collaboration between Nissan & ICC.

The stage was designed considering the brand’s sensibilities and the theme of the event i.e. Cricket. The display zones of Nissan & Micra further added grace to the setup of the stage.
Adding on the successful execution of the event, Ria Agnihotri, Account Director, Encompass Events, said, "It has been an honour to have planned and executed the official launch announcement towards the Nissan ICC collaboration. The key challenge in terms of conceptual planning and design was that we had two very strong brand legacies to work with, and both had to be brought alive as one on one platform. We hope to continue to be a part of and support this collaboration over different BTL platforms in the future."
The event talked about the journey that Nissan & ICC are set to embark upon, with a claim of adding a new dimension to the game.
