According to Ankita Chugh, Director, Ankita Chugh Weddings, the clients wished to go back to their roots around the Marwar region. As they deal in luxury diamond jewellery, they wanted a destination that exemplified royalty and hence Jodhpur turned out to be the perfect location epitomizing luxury and royalty.

The Regal Welcome

A Royal Procession of 25 Vintage Cars with all youngsters kickstarting the wedding from the airport to the grand Umaid Bhawan Palace.

The Rathod Style welcome at the palace included Biguls , horses with lancemen , dancers, drummers and rose petals showering.

The  Haldi, Geet & Shahi Bhoj

Venue - Peacock lawns, Umaid Bhawan Palace

A royal Sit down lunch was decorated in Balinese style.  The agency created a mood board of Bali reflecting airy and breezy tropics while keeping intact the colours of marwar signifying royal lineage. Lime green and Pink were the predominant colours.

The Concert Night

Venue - Mehrangarh Fort

A Fashion theme was used which was inspired by the passion of luxury, style, unique collectibles and art possessed by royalty.  A Hot Pink and Black colour palette was used.

The evening began with a procession similar to how there would be gala celebration when monarchs climbed up the fort, 300 folks artists from 8 villages called to perform in the pathway. Simultaneously, dinner and cocktails took place overlooking the spectacular view of the city. The Sonu Nigam concert kept the crowd on their feet all through the night. Dj Akbar Sami & percussionist Jonqui handled the music at the after party.

The Horse Polo Match with Wine & Cheese

Venue - Maharaja Gaj Singh Sports Foundation

A Victorian theme portrayed the regal recreational sport in the Victorian era. Colours like Blue denoting Royal Heraldry and Yellow denoting Warriors looked perfect.

The guests were treated to a recreational game of the royals - Horse Polo. The game was named Chennai Super League which made it further interesting with the grooms side and Brides side supporting one team each. Anchor Ali Asgar further entertained the crowd by conducting activities for the crowd.

The Mehendi

Venue –Poolside, Bal Samand Lake Palace

Decor featured Pop art fused with vibrant shades of Rajasthani Lehriya. Lehriya fabrics in Yellow , Pink and Green added to the ambience.

The “Rangeela Rajasthan” Night with Ila Arun

Sufi hues blended with Folk inspired colours looked stunning. The colour palette showcased colours like Purple, White and Gold . A Family Sangeet took place with popular singer, Ila Arun

The Wedding

Venue - Takhatgarh Village, Rajasthan

The event incorporated the theme “Shringara of the Deities” where the agency recreated an environment of love, art, beauty, piousness and spirituality. A Maroon, Red & Gold colour scheme accentuated the theme beautifully.

The couple made a grand entry in a chopper, leaving the guests surprised!

According to the agency, the wedding was the most challenging part of the project as the ceremony took place in a village which was even devoid of proper sanitation facilities

The Reception

Venue - Baradari Lawn, Umaid Bhawan Palace

The Reception was themed, “Happily ever after” in an attempt to give the celebrations, a fairy tale ending. A Sword for the cake cutting was brought in by a girl in a Helium Balloon which was followed by spectacular fireworks display.

The event also saw an instrumental performance by an international band.
