Pinkstar Events Ambuja Cements ACC Cement Taj Mansingh Hotel

Organized by Ambuja – ACC Cements, the maiden edition of ‘Amrut Smart Cities India’ took place from Sept. 9 - 11 at the Taj Mansingh Hotel, New Delhi. Managed by Pinkstar Events, the conclave provided a common platform for stakeholders across infrastructure, urban, agricultural and other sectors. The objective of the conclave was to present the latest government announcement on Smart Cities and discuss how to develop and sustain a better quality life in the future using technology. More than 350 people attended the event.

Defining the objective of the event, Ajay Kapur, Managing Director, Ambuja Cements said, “Amrut Smart Cities enables all sectors to discuss new technology and also explain these to probable users, giving them an opportunity to discuss how the next generation cities of India would look like.”

Pinkstar Events is the lead agency empanelled by Ambuja Cements for the last three years. Speaking about the alliance, MPS BORA, Head – Marketing, Pinkstar Events said, “Promoting future smart cities discussion is one of our key sustainable development imperatives. We are happy to associate with this event. The initiative should help us reach to all future generations.”

The brief for this particular event was to create all the stage and lecture material, and also to come up with the main design concept based on the conclave’s thematic focus. This had to be executed within a tight schedule. Over the 3 days of the event, the agency was responsible for welcoming guests, managing all meetings part of the conclave, and the final event.

A panel discussion at the conclave was hosted by Prof. Chetan Vaidya, Director, School of Planning & Architecture, New Delhi. Panelists included Dr. M . Ramachandran, I.A.S. [retd.], former Secretary, Ministry of Urban Development, Govt. of India; Dr. Omkar Goswami, Founder & Chairperson of CERG Advisory, Board of Directors, Ambuja Cements Ltd.; Abbas Master, CEO, Saifee Burhani Upliftment Trust [SBUT], Mumbai; Anand Madia, Adviser & Secretary E-Governance, Govt. of Sikkim, Technology Consultant; Dr. Prem C Jain, FRICS, Chairman Emeritus, AECOM India and Chairman, Indian Green Buildings Council; and Dr. S Rajkumar, Senior Engineering Manager, Centre For Excellence & Futuristic Development, L&T, Chennai.

Talking about the initiative, Prof. Chetan Vaidya, Director, School of Planning & Architecture said, “’Smart Cities’ infrastructure requirement is at the core of our program and we have been relentlessly working for the future cities plan with multiple on-ground initiatives.”

The 3-day conclave took place at the Taj Mansingh Hotel, Delhi and was attended by over 350 people across various sectors.
