The New Indian Express Devi Awards Phase 1 ITC Gardenia Devi Awards

The New Indian Express Devi Awards 2015 celebrated the achievements of ten exceptional women from Karnataka at a grand ceremony held at ITC Gardenia, Bangalore, on August 27. The event managed by Phase 1 Events and Entertainments Pvt Ltd, saw distinguished guests like the Maharani of Mysore and her son, the King of Mysore applauding the ten Devis who have displayed outstanding dynamism and innovation in their work. Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah presented the awards to the super achievers including an oncologist, a Kannada sci-fi writer and a Yakshagana artiste.

Phase 1 has managed the first Karnataka edition of the Devi Awards with a brief to organize a simple flawless event that highlights the Devis. As it was an event being webcasted live, as well as to be telecasted in the near future, maximum importance was given to the branding and capture aspect of the event. The requirements from CNN IBN and CNBC Awaaz posed the major challenge as every camera angle had to capture the desired branding.

As the spotlight was to be on the Devis and the branding, the venue decor and other elements were kept minimal. The New Indian Express Editorial Director, Prabhu Chawla addressed the gathering, while Managing Editor, Shampa Dhar Kamath delivered the vote of thanks. The event saw ministers and eminent guests from sports, entertainment, administration and the Police, present to honour the winners.

Speaking about managing the Devi Awards, Oum Pradutt, Founder, Phase 1 Events and Experiences said, "We were privileged to be associated with such an honourable initiative. The Devis were all a class apart, each so significant and commendable in their contributions to the community.
