The second edition of the India Gadget Expo (IGE) ’15 was announced by KT Ramarao, Minister for IT & Panchayati Raj Affairs, Government of Telangana, at a press conference in Hyderabad. To be held at Hitex Convention Centre Hyderabad from Sept. 18 to 21, the upcoming expo is organised by Skits Events, Catpro Events and Moksh Events, and is supported by the Government of Telengana.
On this global industry platform, Ramarao said, “It feels great to see an event like India Gadget Expo happening in India, especially in our city of Hyderabad. We welcome and appreciate the organisers for taking the lead and making it possible. Hopefully, we can together raise the bar in the years to come, perhaps to the level of CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas.”
Elaborating upon what the property hopes to achieve, Sanjeev Kumar, CEO, Skits Events said, “With IGE2015, we are aiming to create a platform for the consumers to not only get a first-hand experience of the latest gadgets available in global markets, but also to get a glimpse of next gen technology. This edition will be bigger and better with the launch of a wide range of gadgetry that will be showcased for the first time. While consumers will be in for a gadget treat, manufacturers and innovators will get an opportunity to showcase their gadgets and obtain first-hand feedback from industry biggies and target groups.”
IGE will bring together major stakeholders of the tech community comprising of technology providers, gadget manufacturers, technology innovators, bureaucrats, government officials, entrepreneurs and start-ups. The expo will showcase around 1000+ gadgets from 300+ manufacturers from several countries including Israel, China, Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
Along with presenting a series of cutting-edge seminars, the gadget expo will exhibit the latest in trends and technology for industry professionals as well as for start-ups. The event will further include the presentation of ‘NDTV Gadget Guru Awards’.
Special events to look forward at the expo include 5@5, which will have five product launches every day at 5pm with an allotted time of 5 minutes. Many exhibitors and manufacturers will be showcasing their new range of products in the categories of mobile phones, gaming, electronics, 3D printers, smart watches, home appliances and so on.
The 4-day expo is expected to witness a footfall of around 1 lakh visitors and participants across the world from varied segments including Global Investors, CEOs and Managing Directors, Technology Professionals and enthusiasts, Dealers/ Distributors, Government officials, Consumers and students.
The event will also be conducting Inspiring Indian Innovation Award 2015 to honour the Indian tech innovations.
