Weddings at farmhouses and hotels are a common sight, but not everyday does one witness a wedding celebration on an F1 track! That is exactly what guests were in for last month, at the The Wedding-Reception of Vaibhav Jalan, CEO and Founder of Vijayee Enterprises and Varsha Singh, daughter of co-founder of the Jaypee Group, Late Mr. R.K. Singh.
“This was a wedding with a difference from the very beginning. Having worked with the families before, we knew they had an appetite to be different and they gave us creative freedom which one rarely sees.", said Co-Founder and CEO of Weddingline, Arpita Gandhi.
Guests found themselves on the 5.6 km track as they entered, which had been lit up to create a festive ambience. The Paddock zone was water-proofed with a customized hanger structure, that housed the V-Cafe (a food street) and the V Automotive Museum, carefully branded as part of the central theme, that revolved around the couples initials.
Weddingline partnered with the Heritage Motoring Club of India for the display of some rare and exotic vintage, classic cars and motorcycles that had a racing pedigree. Guests were seen clicking selfies in the museum, which turned out to be another prominent highlight of the evening.
The Media Centre was turned into the ‘V- Lounge’, a central arena which saw a sensational performance by musical maestros, Salim and Sulaiman followed by a performance by the International Symphony.
"Weddingline takes its inspirations from the venues we select, and this could not have been any different. Marrying an F1 Theme with a Wedding Gala seemed to be challenging initially, but what came out finally, has left everyone really pleased.”, added Gandhi.
Speaking of the gala celebration at India’s Pride- the Budh International Circuit, Chetan Vohra. MD, Weddingline said, “We have done many automobile and car launches at the BIC through our brand Line Communications - but never a wedding on an F1 Track. This was a new experience for us as well as the entire team at BIC and i think everyone is very pleased with the outcome and potential, that lies in the place.”
So whats next we asked the Weddingline team, a wedding at an airport or perhaps a railway station? “Wait and watch” says Vohra.
