Hamleys Kesava Kirupa Guinness World Record Rubik's Cube
On August 2 Hamleys hosted a ‘Guinness World Record Attempt’ for Kesava Kirupa at Hamleys Chennai outlet. Kesava from Chennai is the winner of 9 international Cubing competitions organized by various Universities in India and has also held 2 National records - 3x3 Rubik’s Cube Average and the 4x4 Rubik’s Cube Average. He has been awarded the “Best young Cuber of 2014”.
Hamleys has extended Kesava support, so he could attempt a ‘Guinness World Record’ for the 'Most puzzle cubes solved in one hour 3x3x3'. The previous record was held by Thomas Watiotonna from France in 2013 by solving 210 puzzles in 1 hour. Puzzle prodigy Kesava broke this record by a huge margin by solving 293 puzzles in 1 hour! His next target is to win the World Championship to be held in 2017.
Commenting on this engagement, Karandeep Singh, Business Head, Hamleys, said, “Attempting a Guinness World Record is inspirational and engaging, we want to give kids and parents visiting Hamleys this unique opportunity to witness the same. The Hamleys experience goes beyond just toys and is not complete without its unique brand of experiential entertainment which enthrals both children and adults alike. We love to support and showcase children’s activities that are both informative and enjoyable, this Guinness World record attempt is one of them. We are really proud of Kesava and wish him all the luck in future!”
