The WOW Convention and Awards Asia 2015 took place on June 25 at JW Marriot New Delhi Aerocity, featuring world class speakers in a string of power packed panel discussions on weddings and social events.
The session ‘The Four Key Elements Involved in Managing A Successful Destination Wedding was moderated by a seasoned player of the industry, Chetan Vohra, Director, Weddingline.
Destination Weddings experts that participated in the session as panelists included, Elie Berchan, Director, Elie Berchan Wedding and Events Creation,Rajeev Jain, Director, Rashi Entertainment, Sushil Wadhwa, Founder & CMD, Platinum World Group and Aditya Motwane, Director, Motwane Entertainment and Weddings.
The importance of local support and ways to make the most of what any destination has to offer were discussed. The planners also shared different views on how to integrate the destination into wedding celebrations.
Moving forward, panelists spoke about the importance of selecting the right local partners in a destination and leveraging the strength of local expertise and sourcing.
Stating the key to a successful destination wedding, Chetan Vohra said, “The right destination partners can make or break a destination wedding.”
Discussing the difference between historical venue choices for destination weddings in India and international destination weddings, Aditya Motwane said, “In India, we are restricted to Udaipur, Hyderabad or Jaipur if we want to plan a wedding in a historical venue. But abroad, more or less all historical venues are at our disposal and we can choose from among them, which is a big plus according to me.”
Speaking of how budgets are crucial to the success of a project, Sushil Wadhwa said, “If Shahjahan had settled for the lowest bidder/quote, I' m sure we wouldn't have the Taj Mahal."
