The International Gemological Institute (IGI), the world's largest independent gem certification and appraisal institute, hosted the first ‘D-show’ for the west region of India. The buyer-seller knowledge meet was held at Jaipur’s Fairmont Hotel from June 13 to 15. The event enabled close to 950 successful meetings between participating partners and buyers from all over India.
Brandwidth Events has been partnering with IGI for the D-show - the past four shows were held in Hyderabad, New Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru. Each show not only hosts approximately 800 meetings between industry luminaries, but also holds exclusive seminars to help empower participants to effectively face industry challenges. The vision of the show is to holistically further the trade by offering an educational communication platform that brings together hundreds of retailers from all over India, enabling them to interact directly with manufacturers.
The event showcased jewellery by renowned jewellers and diamond manufacturers from all over India, and focused on one-to one-meetings for all participants. The gala evening was planned keeping the Rajasthani culture as the flavour of the event. From a traditional Rajasthani welcome to emcee AK Rahman being dressed in traditional Rajasthani attire to entertainment by Chugge Khan and Rajasthan Josh, the evening saw the guests unwinding after a hectic day of back to back meetings.
Commenting on the event, Shashank Gupta, Chief Dreamer & Nurturer, Brandwidth Events, said: “With nearly 950 meetings in the fifth edition of the show, the numbers speak for themselves in terms of the sheer planning and management of movements, check ins, manpower handling, hotel coordination and security arrangements for the jewellery.”
Speaking about the show, Tehmasp Printer, MD, IGI India said: “We at IGI take immense pride in the D-show, since the platform allows manufacturers and retailers to come together and discuss business propositions without an external intermediary. The response from our patrons across India has been outstanding, and we are thrilled as the Jaipur event’s success exceeded even our expectations. We look forward to continuing to advance this effort throughout the industry at large.”
The three-day buyer-seller knowledge meet took place at Fairmont Hotel in Jaipur.
