Legrand recently hosted its 'System Integrators Meet' in the city of Srinagar. The three-day event was held at Vivanta by Taj and was executed from the ground up by A for Pineapple Ideas and Executions (AFP).
Titled Xpar 2.0, the conference was attended by over a hundred participants from India and abroad. The first day started off on a leisurely note with conference members being escorted up the beautiful Kralsangri hill to the hotel which sits right at the top, surrounded by the majestic Zabarwan mountains. The guests were later taken to the local markets to get an initial feel of the place and its people. This was followed by a networking dinner hosted by Shweta Lalwani who got the guests at-ease with an ice-breaking session.
The second day started off with a conference held at SKICC, Srinagar’s largest convention center, located on the boulevard encircling the Dal Lake. This was followed by a visit to Nishat Garden and the evening was fun-filled with an award ceremony and gala dinner. This was wrapped up with an energizing performance by the versatile Delhi-based fusion band, Black Slade.
The third day started off on a professional note with another business session till lunch-time. Being a highly technical conference, an experience zone was set up for the guests and customers to get a hands-on feel of the products and services that would be discussed during the course of the conference. Guests also toured the Chashme Shahi (an ancient Mughal garden) and Pari Mahal (a majestic seven-terraced garden) before going for a scenic boat ride aboard the shikara at Dal Lake.
The evening had the guests engulfed in a Sufi-themed event, with Sufi singers belting it out in the lawn and hookah, drinks and refreshments to keep the guests on their feet, being served in the pre-lawn area. This was followed by dinner and later on a DJ set which got the party started and the people grooving yet again. The conference came to an end with a morning visit to the Shankaracharya Temple, which overlooks the Kashmir Valley.
Speaking about the obstacles faced in execution of the event, Annu Anand, Chief Catalyst & MD, AFP Ideas and Executions, said: “Srinagar is undoubtedly a beautiful, serene and peaceful location for a conference. However, it did prove quite challenging to handle large amounts of guests. We had to transport much of our equipment from Delhi and faced border clearance issues as well. However, the conference was a grand success owing to the natural beauty and aura of Srinagar and the massive efforts of the entire team here at AFP. Sightseeing should always be a significant part of a Srinagar conference.”
