This initiative urges one to look beyond the health and environment benefits and take this ride to reduce the carbon footprint, making our city a better place to walk, bike, live and breathe! The Smart Commute project will very shortly be launching a range of alternate eco-friendly lifestyle products made completely out of bicycle inner tubes, where the new mantra is not just to recycle but to make a tangible difference in the quality of the environment. Also, part of this project will be the smart commute app that will be developed for all the commuters.
Speaking on the occasion, Firoza, Founder, Cycle2Work, said, “After a tremendous response from the participants and corporate houses last year, PGM decided to promote the Cycle 2 Work culture. This is merely the start of what we hope will be a longer-term cycling boom. To give our commuters a real time experience, we are organizing the event on World Environment Day - June 5th, 2015.”
Speaking on the occasion, Ashok Datar, Chairman, Mumbai Environment Social Network (MESN), said, “The C2W initiative is a commendable step in making our beloved city of Mumbai cleaner and greener. We believe that by making greener lifestyle choices, we can not only raise awareness but hopefully encourage more citizens to switch.”
Adding further, Madhu S. Dutta, Head of Marketing, Raymond, the presenting partner for the event, said, “This will be our second year of association with the Cycle2Work initiative as we believe in promoting better lifestyle amongst our employees and what better way to do so than cycling to work. We hope such initiatives encourage people to take up healthy habits and also contribute to a cleaner environment.”
Powered by Raymond, the initiative, will take place on Jun. 5 and is open to all working professionals, cycling enthusiasts, fitness personnel, etc.
