A cocktail which was originally supposed to be an open air event had to be turned into an indoor nightclub! R2S Events designed and executed a Crystal Maze Nightclub themed pre-wedding event wherein the agency created a 15000 sq. feet structure with a 28 feet ceiling height within 48 hours before the event owing to rains mentioned in the weather forecast. A swanky nightclub, complete with LEDs, lazer lights, thematic graphics, a nightclub entrance etc. was recreated within the farmhouse venue for this event.
Nimit Mehta, Director, R2S Events said, “The day witnessed heavy rainfall as was predicted. It was rather tough convincing a panicked client to invest in a hangar and that too before it is too late. Based on weather forecasts we had to persuade the client to let us create a structure. Coming to think of it now, the decision most definitely accentuated the nightclub ambiance, in addition to saving the day.”
After creating the hanger, R2S Events integrated the entire event design from an open air to an indoor structure. In a matter of over 24 hours, the design including decor elements and placement of lounges, buffet, stage etc had to be reworked. The agency had to order fresh grass pads from a nearby nursery to be able to work smoothly also ensuring no damage to the extensive technical equipment. However, the fresh grass pads also were damaged and no good after a few hours after which, the agency had to order carpets that would go well with the entire look and feel.
According to the agency, the idea was to create a ritzy nightclub with intricate thematic details that would complete the experience. From the walkway and entrance, decor and entertainment to the stage, seating and backdrops, we intertwined the Crystal Maze Nightclub theme. Keeping in line with the client brief, the agency used less of colours in the decor elements and instead played more with lighting effects.
A long alley were created which emulated a maze. Even the placement of the lounges was done in a way that it looked and felt like a maze from which an exit cannot be found easily. The entrance was exactly how is seen at a Nightclub. Hostesses and gentleman in black suits were present to welcome each guest and stamp their wrists with the monogram of the couple also used in the wedding invites.
Thematic panels were especially made for the backdrop of the stage and other areas across the venue. Thematic chandeliers made of high quality crystal adorned the ceiling of the stage. Other than that the centerpieces and lounges were also decorated with elaborate crystal drops and hangings.
An element which can make or break the decor at any event, Lighting was very carefully chosen to accentuate and complement the nightclub feel all across the venue.
A glamourous LED island bar also sported graphics which were in sync with the theme. Specialized bartenders added to the theme juggling bottles in exciting ways. Inlit tables were placed across the venue and in addition to being inlit, they were covered in fabric that was printed to match the maze theme.
Managed by R2S Events, the cocktail party which was originally supposed to be an open-air event had to be turned into an indoor nightclub due to rains in the weather forecast.
