English indie rock band Alt-J first made its way to India as part of Live Viacom18’s Emerge Festival in Bangalore and Delhi on Feb. 28 and March 1. While the Bangalore show was conducted successfully with more than 6,000 attendees, the Delhi one had to be cancelled due to rains.
Organizer Live Viacom 18 has now ensured that audiences will get another chance to experience the sensational band, by bringing it back as part of Emerge Festival in Delhiurgaon (Indira Gandhi Sports Complex) and Mumbai (Richardson & Cruddas Mill) on May 21 and 22. Opening the act for Alt-J will be singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad, indie band The Colour Compound and special act Voctronica. Held in association with Vh1 India, the fest is presented by Vivo, powered by Only and has tickets available on MeraEvents.com.
Commenting on the return of Alt-J, Jaideep Singh, Sr. Vice President and Business Head – INS, Viacom18 said: “At Live Viacom18, we always aim at going beyond traditional norms and experiments in the music and entertainment space. We are committed to providing an experience to remember and we are happy to bring back the band to our audiences to live up to the promises we made to them.”
Adding further, Alt-J band member Gus Unger-Hamilton said: “We can't wait to come back to India. Our first trip there was incredible and we're looking forward to seeing our fans out there again at the Emerge Festival."
The band will be performing in Delhi and Mumbai on May 21 and 22 along with Prateek Kuhad and Advaita.
