Momente Weddings recently executed a 3-day wedding at Fairmont, Jaipur for a prominent business family of Kenya. The festivities kicked off with the guests checking in. Upon arrival at the hotel, the guests were given a traditional Rajasthani welcome with a petal shower, mala and tika and a performance by a traditional Rajasthani folk group.

Each room received a welcome hamper along with a welcome letter and a wedding timeline, which detailed the schedule for the next two days.

The first evening was a laid back barbeque welcome dinner planned on the sand dunes at Samode Palace, Jaipur. From the entrance, guests were transported to the bygone era on a procession of decorated camel carts accompanied with fire-eaters, mashalwalas and dholwalas.

A costume corner was made, where the guests could dress up in traditional Rajasthani attire and have their pictures taken with a traditional backdrop. This was a huge hit with the guests.

The next day was the Mehendi on the open roof top terrace. The décor was a colourful Rajasthani theme, with a lot of colourful puppets, bangles, umbrellas and similar props. A traditional folk group provided entertainment as the guests enjoyed variety of smoked, flavored and exotic cocktails prepared by the Wedding Bartenders.

There were various counters to keep the guests engaged, including a live ‘lac’ bangle maker, an astrologer and a potter. Takeaway favours included bangles, borlas, saree borders and scarves for various age groups.

The Sangeet was a Cirque Du Soir nightclub themed event. A thematic photo booth was setup with props and instant photo prints, which guests could take away with them in personalized frames. The guests were treated to an array of family performances.

The next day, the poolside wedding started with ‘Saafa Bandhi’ at the beautiful Sahelio ki Badi. The royal baraat included a procession with drummers, soldiers, flag bearers, camels and horses. The guests danced to the beats of a Punjabi dhol band.

A simple and classy Mandap was setup at the poolside for the pheras and decorative elements were added with all things auspicious like rudraksh hangings, bells etc. Personalized water bottles, sandalwood scented hand fans and ceremony booklets welcomed the guests.  A vedic vivaah group recited mantras and chanted during the pheras, which kept the guests glued to their seats. Dainty confetti cones were used to circulate fresh rose petals to the guests for the showering as blessings on the couple.

The Reception was in a classic and contemporary tone aimed at bringing out the beauty of the stunning ballroom at Fairmont. Décor accents were added in while and gold. The sit down dinner with seating plans was carefully displayed on large frames at the entrance strung with ribbons.

The event started with a beautiful entry by the bride, groom and their parents, followed by the couple’s first dance, cake cutting and some wonderfully funny and heart-warming speeches.

The agency’s responsibilities included planning, management, décor and hospitality.
