Event Crafter manages Le Méridien Gurgaon’s signature first night

Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. announced the opening of Le Méridien Gurgaon, Delhi NCR, on the 11th of March 2015 following the rebranding of Pullman Hotel, Gurgaon. The hotel features 285 guestrooms, including 22 suites, with contemporary furnishings; a renovated signature dining venue, latest recipe; and a new Longitude bar.

The launch event, which was the signature Le Méridien first night saw a congregation of city’s intellect, art aficionados and top businessmen who came together to welcome the new hub of art, creative cuisine and distinct hospitality to the city. The launch event was hosted by Brian Povinelli, global brand leader, Le Meridien and Westin and was managed and executed by Event Crafter.

The signature ‘first night’ celebrations were lived up to experiential perfection by Event Crafter. The agency created a confluence of French finesse and Indian kitsch to give the curious vibes a truly creative feel. The vivid arrangements included innovative set-up design, symbolic photo-op, a special art arena and the dining arena all ornate with exquisite floral décor, art installations, prints and props to give the guests some food for thought at every step.

The pre-function area (outside porch of the hotel converted into the launch arena) had a customized art installation. A replica of the hotel was created out of crystal cubes. Cubes from the same art installation were presented as giveaways to the guests on departures with a message that the hotel was giving away a part of itself to them. While one side of the crystal cube had the branding the other side had a touching poem penned down by one of the owners of the hotel.

Other engagements at the pre-function area included the Photo-op, Wine and Cheese session. The specially brought in dance group from UK, People Pile created an electric atmosphere with its off-beat choreography and symbolic art presentation. The launch sequence for the hotel too was a creative symbolization of the brand’s personality, with a special Hand ShadowGraphy act performed by Amar Sen & Sabyasachi Sen, the only HandShadowGraphy performing duo in Asia. The act culminated into the brand reveal.

As the guests entered the Le Méridien Hub in the lobby area, a concert set-up awaited them with a stellar experience as the promise. The French Bossa Nova band Nouvelle Vague, a LM100 member and the brand’s global music partner specially flown in from Paris infused the Hub with their live beats and the entire space was transformed into a one big social sphere.

Talking about the experience, Kriti Bhargava, Senior Manager, Event Crafter added, “This event had it all, the creativity, the freedom, the intellect and true international feel. People loved the way we treated the concepts and presented the experiences to them. The art installations and the photo-op were praised for their discrete creativity. As Nouvelle Vague performed live and the music gripped the atmosphere, we could just see jubilant, elated faces all around. People Pile, the alternative dance group from was also a rage with the crowd as it mingled with people and got them to totally submerge themselves into the electric feel of the moment dancing away in pure ecstasy. Though the challenges before us were no less, yet still we pulled it off in style and this truly was one of the most memorable events for me as an experience manager.”

In addition, the evening included an art performance that recalls traces of Gurgaon history; a tantalizing culinary repertoire, including local flavored éclairs; and sparkling drinks that kept spirits high. The invited guests unlocked a series of rewarding discoveries amid timeless décor and engaging views at the Signature First Night of Le Méridien Gurgaon, Delhi NCR.
