Schindler launches its first ever plant in India

Swiss company Schindler launched its first ever plant in India recently. Ice Global managed two events for the brand - a launch party at Courtyard Marriott Hotel and a plant tour as well, in Chakan.

Ice won a multi-agency pitch to clinch the deal. In addition to the concepts presented, what stood in Ice’s favour was the positive feedback Schindler got from the agency’s existing clients, especially Rolls-Royce. The theme was chosen as ‘The World of Limitless Possibilities’, inspired by Schindler’s business of mobility, leading into the promise of Schindler for its Indian customers.

The event saw 300 attendees comprising board members flying in from Switzerland, senior executives, media, customers, bureaucrats, affiliate partners and industry influencers. The launch party hosted by Gitikka Ganju Dhar was a special occasion, where the senior company officials could bond with customers and bureaucrats. The evening saw a stand-up comedy act by Atul Khatri (East India Comedy) to lighten the atmosphere.

On the next day, attendees made their way to the plant for the launch and tour. It started with the traditional lighting of the lamp and a live Ganesh Vandana performance, followed by a few speeches and an AV. Guests were invited on-stage to initiate the logo revealing by touching a screen panel, after which the screen glowed with bespoke imagery and graphics leading into the splitting of the screen, where a larger-than-life brushed metal logo emerged amidst fanfare lighting and haze.

The plant tour was designed to suit the plant layout and facilitate movement of guests - multiple entry and exit points were used to eliminate waiting time. Special assembly points were created along the lines of viewing galleries and the employees were briefed on the presentation styling as well as the use of walky-talkies. Each group on the plant tour was escorted by guides who were constantly in touch with each other to ensure a smooth roll-out.

Commenting on the setup, Pramod Gaikwad, Director, Ice Global, said: “We built world class infrastructure to host the events, including exhibit displays, sliding LED walls, self-powered rolling platforms, enhanced arches, grand standing of drive-way pylons, air-conditioned tents, viewing galleries, etc. Everything created by us was inspired by Schindler’s brand personality and was worked out within the corporate guidelines. This was immensely appreciated by Mr. Uday Kulkarni, President - India and South Asia, Schindler."
