Oman named top destination for travel by Skift

Oman has been named the top travel destination for 2015 by Skift, a global travel industry intelligence firm. The sultanate was commended for retaining its Arabian hospitality and traditional Bedouin charm amidst modern developments, enabling tourists to have an immersive experience of the Arab World.

Additionally, Oman was part of the ‘52 places to go in 2015’ list created by New York Times and the ‘50 Incredible Places to Travel in 2015’ created by the popular magazine Travel+Leisure. Oman has also been called the ‘It’ destination for 2015 by Yahoo Travel USA. The recognitions complement the country’s move towards positioning itself as a leading travel destination in the Middle East by offering its visitors a diversity of offbeat and adventurous packages for short holidays.

Oman is gradually gaining popularity as a hub for MICE due to its strategic location on the crossroads of Asia and Europe. In addition, Oman has become a good wedding destination for holding larger-than-life Indian weddings. 

Oman has positioned itself as a perfect short-haul destination for Indian tourists. Indians can appreciate Oman’s cool breeze, pleasant climate, clean beaches and soaring mountains along with the sultanate’s leisure, cultural and historical attractions. Located less than three hours away from India, the sultanate is connected via direct flights with major Indian cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai.
